Ideal location. Loved the steam trains going past the cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will definitely return.

"Great location for seeing the Jacobite, Neptunes staircase and the Corpach wreck. Fab"

9.0

Nice characterful wee cottage, very well appointed and equipped. Having the Jacobite come past was a great bonus!

Couldn’t work out how to get the heating on I’m afraid. Fortunately it wasn’t too cold and we weren’t in for that long.

"Enjoyable stay in a lovely home. Good communication from owner. Highly recommended."

Lovely home. Very clean in fact everything looked new. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Great location for seeing places of interest and plenty of walks with the dog. You won’t get any closer the Jacobite Train than here, literally on you doorstep.

"Excellent experience if you love trains as we do. Lovely walks just over the road"

10.0

The location was just what we wanted for our little girl who loves trains and this is the closest you can get without being on the train. Every time the level crossing gate's dropped we all had to go into the garden and wave at the train driver.

Loved everything

"Clean Spacious Nicely decorated comfortable well equipped accommodation enjoyed by all the family"

9.0

The cottage was well kept it was very clean and well equipped, parking was on site and even though it was along a main rod and train track it wasn't too noisy, we actually loved the train, we waited for the crossing alarm then watched the beautiful steam engines go by one was built in Bolton where I am from, very picturesque and they go over the viaduct used for Harry Potter Movies, The cottage had a washing machine and dryer, fridge and large freezer, and drying room for walking boots, across the road was a small woodland path for dog walking. in the next village Caol is the best chippy its called Sammy's excellent fish and chips, and i had my childhood favourite a red pudding supper. shops are near by and a bus stop but we had a car. Beds super comfy nice bed linen plenty of towels, great wifi and nice sitting room. .

This is only a minor niggle nothing to deter from the great accommodation, it advertises a dishwasher but there's just a double sink, so that needs to be changed, but I would go again - the boys had to do the washing up, as i do all the cooking which was a novelty, as i have a dishwasher at home, so i watched i amazement as they stood at the sink. last thing i'm lady of a larger size, size 20 and I had to squeeze sideways in the shower door opening lol. it probably opened more but I couldn't work it out and not going to tell the rest i was struggling to fit through the shower door they woulf have tormented me all holiday lol.

The facilities were ideal and the cottage was provided with everything you need (and more). Decor is modern and fresh, cleanliness was excellent. All rooms are a good size and the kitchen is huge and really well equipped. Don't be put off by the position of the cottage when researching this property. It was a signalman's cottage but 3 or 4 trains a day is a novelty, by no means a problem. Unfortunately 'The Jacobite' was not running whilst we were there. That would have been the 'icing on the cake'. Location is great for access to all the Highlands have to offer. A Co-op is 15 mins walk. The Trade Winds pub, next to that, doesn't look much from outside but DO go in. Food is spot on, particularly their locally sourced fish & chips which must be the best we've had in any restaurant/pub. The Cabin Cafe, 50yds. behind the cottage, is so handy and well worth a visit for breakfast, to set you up for the day. I don't think we could have done much better for accommodation that suited us perfectly. Nowhere is cheap but Annat Cottage was priced well against everything else we looked at before booking. We would not hesitate to book again if/when we go back to the Highlands.

I can't think of anything really to dislike about Annat Cottage.
