Björkholm mökit

Bjorkholm is a rustic island paradise where you can truly experience Finnish summer cottage life: peace and calm, getting back to basics, beautiful nature, trees, water and fresh air. The arrival of the ferry marked the different stages of the day. We didn't fish, or horseride or sail but these activities are all available to you. We just spent all our time relaxing. Our hosts were so warm and welcoming. The information booklet in our cabin was comprehensive and clear. There are some tricks to staying at Bjorkholm - the composting toilet and the finnish kitchen drying cupboard for example - but we soon learned all the tricks and our kids have told all their friends about these adventures!

It takes a little time to get used to the darkness at night; some solar lights on the roads and paths would help? or maybe just a small solar power torch? If like us you were travelling from one place it would've been great to have some clothes washing facilities. Finally I would have loved a shower, even a shared shower block. We just got used to swimming and washing in the sea.

The place for rest is simply magical. Spiritual rest, nature and it is a pity that we had little time to stay here.

We had Örner cabin, it was comfortable and big. Sauna was perfect and kids love sheeps. Was so good to eat outside and grill. Very private and relax. Perfect weekend with family.

There wasnt so good view to the sea, like i read. Maybe view will be better on the spring time. It was better when there have better picture for all cabins. But still everything was perfect.
