The host was lovely and very accommodating, will definitely come back if we are in the far North, spotlessly clean and close to town.

At first glance, Rawene looks like a sleepy one street small town- it has three churches alone on the main street! These must compete for congregations. But it is surrounded by water everywhere and the interplay of light, sky, flora and fauna is very attractive. We enjoyed sitting at the Boatshed Cafe and looking at the water. But what also made Rawene special for us is our accomodation at 2 Marriner St. Our room wasn't just clean and comfortable; it had style, a lovely view of the garden and the water and the residential cats came visiting. They were the cute but shy and quiet type ,so no worries there. We spent a lot of time just reading or walking. A definite plus point is that Robyn, our hostess is also an excellent cook. We had two dinners there and both were delicious.

Nice quite space to soaked up the view and a arms length from the little town centre and car ferry.

Only down fall would be the ants of all things, we ended up taking a lot of them home.

Great location.Great host.

Should have stayed longer.
