Casa Ruggiero

We had a wonderful time staying at Casa Ruggiero. It is a really beautiful apartment - spacious and clean, with a lovely balcony and an incredibly comfortable bed. The way it has been furnished is quite stunningv too. At times, we'd rather have stayed in the apartment than gone out. It was so relaxing. We loved the location, close to the shops, restaurants, and historical sights - literally no more than a 5min walk to Quatro Cantina. Federica was fantastic too, contacting us regularly to make sure we were okay, booking taxis for us, leaving supplies for us, offering advice etc. We hope to go back one day.

Very clean and fully equipped apartment. Close to the main city landmarks. Federica was very kind to meet us at the property earlier than the standard check-in time, explain the property rules in fluent English and hand over the keys. She was in touch during our stay making sure we are not experiencing any problems. Thank you, Federica!

Federica is simply amazing! She goes above and beyond to accommodate our request for an early check-in despite the clear policy of check-in after 3pm. She even mobilised her parents to help out given her work arrangement. Her apartment is incredibly convenient to everything. She has prepared EVERYTHING you could possibly think of for a comfortable stay. The outdoor terrace is quiet and most pleasant. She is warm, energetic and enthusiastic and her place feels just like home. We'd love to come back if we visit Palermo again!

Federica is a lovely host. Met us to check in, making sure we were well oriented in this oh-so convenient location in the heart of Palermo. Plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance, as are most of the major sights to see and visit in the central city.

The only downside was that on each of the 3 nights we were there the neighbours in the apartment above were quite noisy in the late night and early morning. May have been inconsiderate tourists - not something our host could control.

Great location in the heart of Palermo, super helpful host Federica.... I would recommend this apartment for a couple or a single traveler, it was pretty cool with quirky artwork and books.... a few minutes walk from the central station and a good base to explore the old side of Palermo..... and not too expensive!

The Casa Ruggiero apartment was exceptionally clean, tidy, and with every convenience - a real home from home. Despite being in the centre of the city, it was calm and quiet, and even had a balcony looking over an inner courtyard. It was very near many major sights (eg the art galleries and the wonderful San Certaldo and Martorana churches), as well as the railway station, from where you can easily get to smaller towns like Cefalu. To top it all, Federica is a great host and very helpful - thank you so much!

Federica, the host, was incredibly responsive, personable and helpful. Her apartment is perfectly located, very quiet yet in a central location. The apartment was a quiet haven for us, yet minutes walk from the main sites. It was equipped with everything we needed and very pleasant and comfortable to be in.

Located in the city center, restaurants and stores nearby. Few minutes walk from airport shuttle buses station.

There were noises from upper floors moving the furniture (chairs). But it is not the host’s fault.

This is a fabulous little flat in the absolute perfect location for a trip to Palermo - a stone's throw away from the Quattro Canti, where the two main (mostly pedestrian) streets of Via Maqueda and Via Vittorio Emanuele cross, and from the Piazza Bellini, featuring the gorgeous churches of San Cataldo and Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio. It is also within comfortable walking distance of the Cathedral, the Teatro Massimo and many of the other sites in the historical centre. The area is also full of restuarants, bars and cafes and close to some of the wonderful markets (which are a must). The flat itself is on the second floor of a very interesting building with a slight art nouveau feel to it (with the lift next to the front door) and has a very homely, cozy feel to it. It features a nice sitting area with table, sofa bed and open plan kitchen and a spacious double bedroom (with a couple of steps down to it). The bathroom has a small shower and a useful washing machine. However, the glory of the aprtment is the beautiful terrace, with table and chairs and facilities to hang washing. The terrace is internal so it is not noisy. Federica, who is the host, is exceptionally helpful and was able to discuss by WhatsApp the best way to get there (not easy in a car with Google maps!). She met me at the flat, explained everything, and then personally took me with my car to the nearby car park and organised everything with them, including the fee you have to pay for driving within the controlled traffic zone. All in all a lovely experience, and I certainly hope to go back and stay there again.

The water temperature in the shower tended to go up and down a little bit.

Tucked away in a little back street the property was a little hard to find but a quick text with Frederica who not only directed us but helped us with our luggage, gave us a welcoming tour of the apartment, the keys & directions to the secure parking that she had pre-booked for us (inc ZTL). The apartment is lovely with many thoughtful touches that make it feel very like staying at a friends cosy home, Located in the heart of this vibrant city with everything you could wish for close by, such as great food, culture, history, markets, bars & architecture all within easy walking distance. We really enjoyed our time in Palermo & would love to stay at Casa Ruggiero again & explore some more. Highly recommended.
