I Casaloni

The host was great, communicated well with us and assisted us when we had a changing arrival time and had issues parking. The building facilities were lovely and spacious. The location was central to town and perfect for exploring yet so quiet with a wine festival on in the town square nearby.

Classy place. Historic building with stylish interior. Spotless and well cared for. Has everything you need. Plenty of space.Situated right in the centre. Communication was good.

One would-Excellent .

Panzano is an ideal place to stay in the middle of the Chianti region of Toscana. The location of I Casaloni in Panzano was excellent, just 75 meters off the main (triangular) square. Inside facilities were very good, my partner saying "just right"! Heat was excellent (very cool in April). Small kitchen was quite adequate for our needs.

The outdoor facilities were lacking. The photographs indicated a large patio/garden area, but were a bit ambiguous. Before booking, we asked of the owner if our apartment had direct outdoor access to the patio/garden. His reply was also ambiguous - yes, but shared - with no additional information. Turned out the outdoor patio was about two times the size of the small table and two chairs in it. Yes, it connected with several other apartment patios, but the owner told us on arrive that we should not use them. On questioning, he did indicate an area between the apartments and his villa where we could move our table and chairs, but at the same time said to do so we'd be walking in front of his son's door and windows. Quite disappointing, as we love to take our breakfasts and even dinner outdoors. Would have been nice to have a small clothes washing machine. We stayed for a week. All other apartments in which we stayed across four weeks in Italy had one. Would be a nice addition (adequate space under the staircase to the upstairs apartment). On departure, and while we were driving to the airport outside Firenza, we had a run-in with the owner. Apparently my credit card had expired since I had booked the apartment several months ahead. I told him we would send a new credit card details as soon as we got to the airport. He wasn't satisfied and threatened to call the police on us. As we are also friends of friends of his in Panzano, we thought that was totally uncalled for. We sent the new details as soon as we stopped driving, and received a "thanks", but it left a sour taste in the mouth.

Loved the calm, quiet space. Bed comfortable, space for car parking. Well equipped but could recommend leaving a little coffee, sugar, oil & a few spices. Beautifully finished with big fridge/freezer. Right in center of Panzano close to several restaurants

Would have liked a little more terrace space.

The property was immaculate but cozy, with stone work, neutral colours, and wood. Such a perfect combination. Plus, the artwork and lighting weren’t IKEA; all very tasteful and unique. The home was well-appointed with all the utensils and cooking implements needed. And the location…I was amazed at how perfect this location was for me. Close to the square and best eateries, and everything I needed was within walking distance. Thank you to Luigi and Giovanni - father and son - for making my stay so wonderful.

A little private outdoor space would have been nice, but I wasn’t expecting it. I know what I booked. It just would have been the cherry on the whipped cream if it had that. That said, there are a table and a few chairs right out front of the entrance.

The property was private and not far from all of the amenities, restaurants, cafes and shops that we needed. Everything was a short walking distance away, with the added bonus of stunning views. The host was also lovely and provided us with the privacy we needed, however, was also contactable by phone if you required anything.

Although the property and stay were fantastic, this is only a small suggestion. When arriving very late on the evening, with all of the shops closed, it would have been nice to have had the items available to make a coffee on arrival. Fairly, we should have taken our own as this was not advertised as being available.
