Barns Library

We liked the whole thing .... it was like stepping back in time. Very relaxing and great quality of furniture and fittings. Appreciated the milk, bread etc on arrival. Beautiful gardens to relaxing in and dog friendly. Great 4 poster bed and roll top bath. Very peaceful and at one with nature. Reading in the library very relaxing.

Would appreciate a non slip mat in the shower ... especially for older relatives.

Location and furnishings

The lovely surroundings, access to the garden, the general area with its walks. The living room/dining room were excellent for our requirements. Thank you for the victuals left for our arrival, most welcome.

There is nothing that I can say that I didn't like.

Beautiful remove location near Peebles. Historic. Good facilities. Nice christmas decoration to make us feel right at home.

Hard to find location but with the instruction delivered by the owner you cannot go wrong.

Such an amazing and comfortable place in a perfect location. The cottage is warm welcoming bed is comfortable and the shower is amazing. Plenty of books and fast wifi. The welcome milk eggs and bread was an added bonus I'll give it a 6*! Thank you

Brilliant, remote, quiet, wonderful decor, warm and totally exceptional. With the snow a winter wonderland….

No visitors book to tell the owners how good it was. Could of done with localised lighting in the lounge for reading.

Fabulous cosy bolt hole equipped with everything you would expect in a 5 star hotel. Really comfy beds, lovely antique furniture and decor, piping hot water and plenty of logs for the fire. If a storm were to be raging outside for a week you could be holed up here quite happily. The location is ideal for lovely walks or cycling along the Tweed and is so peaceful. We loved it so much we’ve booked again.

The photos of the cottage didn’t do it justice, it was bigger than we thought it would be and certainly had the ‘wow factor’ There was a problem with the bath tap but as soon as we messaged to inform them someone was there to investigate. Sitting in front of the wood burner with a glass of wine was bliss and there was a good supply of logs to burn. The beds were extremely comfortable which is always a bonus. We walked into Peebles walking through woods and following the river, it brought it home what a perfect location it was. Would definitely stay again.

As a family we had all three properties at the Barns and they were all wonderful unique properties which are cosy and well equipped. We stayed at the library which was absolutely wonderful. Although central heated the log burner was the most appreciated.

My wife’s only thought was it was too dark to read easily but mood lighting was perfect
