Caedmon House at Whitby Abbey

This was our 4th visit and the property is lovely and in a great location

On this visit, we noticed that the windows were dirty and the windowsills very dusty. There was no soap in the bathrooms

Fabulous location with amazing views over Whitby and the coast. It was spacious and well equipped. Ideal for three adult couples

The most direct walking route into Whitby is via many steep steps or a cobbled slope so anyone with mobility issues might find this challenging

The views and proximity to Whitby. The cottage was big, the rooms well sized. A lovely place.

The front door was a pain to open and close every time. It rubbed at the bottom and required a hefty push or pull.

The location was amazing, although it might be difficult for people with mobility issues. Entrance was up a flight of stairs & parking was a bit of a nightmare, mainly due to other people who were staying at different properties. There seemed to be a lot of confusion about this, despite a parking map being provided. There was an issue with privacy in the bathroom upstairs on an evening - no window coverings & you can see straight through from the car park. The property was ideal for our needs. We went as a group of couples & it was comfortable & well equipped. It was cold when we arrived as heating hadn't been on, but was fine once we got it to the desired temperature.. Everything looked clean, but there was grime behind the taps in the upstairs bathroom, on both sink & bath.

Great location and fantastic views from all windows. Had a really nice stay, home from home.
