Unfortunately we only had about 24 hours in Matera, but Savio helped us make the most of our stay! He was SO accommodating with so many snacks and drinks provided, as well as maps and guide books and always being available (like when we needed another set of keys). Hosting this rental is basically his life and you can tell he just loves it. Note that Savio speaks almost no English and uses a translator app, but we got the hang of this pretty quickly and had a wonderful time conversing with him. He is the sweetest. He drove us around to different sites, took lots of pictures for us, and drove us to the bus stop in the morning. I can understand how his desire to be helpful may feel a bit much for some but he was also flexible and understanding when we wanted more downtime on our own. There were three of us in the house so we had plenty of space and had everything we needed!

Can't think of anything other than not having more time in Matera. Beautiful incredible town and area! I'm sure we could have filled multiple days.

Very clean, organized, well decorated, has TV for musical entertainment. The facilities such as the kitchen, living space and bathrooms looks brand new and and a pleasure to spend time in the structure. Well provided with food and drink supplies. Savio was a perfect host! He is super knowledgeable about entire Matera and takes time to show you what others don’t. It’s a treat. If you come, read what we wrote in his reception book!

Das Apartment hat eine super Lage mitten in den Sassi. Es ist wirklich eine außergewöhnliche Unterkunft, die unsere Erwartungen übertroffen hat und mit allem ausgestattet ist, was man braucht: Ein üppig gefüllter Kühlschrank, umfangreichste Küchenausstattung, zwei hochmoderne Bäder, Informationsmaterial zu Matera und vieles mehr … selbst eine Flasche Wein, Prosecco und noch mehr war dabei. Die Grotte ist neu renoviert und mit einem Belüftungssystem und Heizung ausgestattet, alles riecht frisch, kein muffiger Geruch, den man von Grotten sonst kennt. Der Besitzer Savio hat sich um alle unsere Anliegen gekümmert, er hat uns abgeholt, einen kostenfreien Parkplatz besorgt und uns dann mit dem Gepäck zur Unterkunft gefahren. Er hat mit uns eine Fahrt in die alten Höhlen gemacht und uns Einblicke in Matera und die Umgebung gegeben, die einmalig waren und die man wohl bei einer geführten Tour nicht erleben und erfahren dürfte, alles kostenlos. Er ist ein Mensch, der für sein Matera brennt und diese Verbundenheit und all sein Wissen gerne an andere Menschen weitergibt. Wir haben so etwas noch nicht erlebt, wirklich einmalig.

Savio is AMAZING! He made our stay one the very best we’ve had. He went to great lengths to help us, toured us around th town and surrounding area. His unit is a gem. A great highlight of our 3 week tour of Italy.

Nothing - everything was great

Nous avons séjourné dans la magnifique Sassi de Savio, et dès notre arrivée, nous avons été émerveillés par la beauté des lieux ainsi que par la décoration, à la fois élégante et chaleureuse. La maison est bien plus spacieuse que ce que nous imaginions, avec 7 couchages confortables et 2 salles de bains parfaitement équipées. Tout est pensé dans les moindres détails : on y trouve bien plus que dans un hôtel 5 étoiles – du linge de qualité, des produits de courtoisie, une cuisine entièrement équipée... tout était là pour rendre notre séjour inoubliable. Mais ce qui rend l'expérience vraiment unique, c'est Savio, alias James Bond ! C’est sans aucun doute l’un des meilleurs hôtes que nous ayons rencontrés. Il nous a immédiatement mis à l’aise, comme si nous étions de vieux amis. Il nous a fait découvrir Matera et les Sassi avec passion, prenant le temps de nous raconter l’histoire fascinante de cette ville, sans jamais rien attendre en retour. On sent à quel point il aime sa ville, son histoire, et combien il prend plaisir à la partager. Il s’est toujours soucié de notre bien-être, avec une gentillesse et une générosité rares. Un hôte exceptionnel dans un lieu extraordinaire. Si nous repassons par Matera, c’est ici que nous reviendrons, sans hésiter. Nous ne pouvons que recommander chaudement cet endroit et cette expérience unique avec Savio. Merci du fond du cœur, de la part de nous trois.

Everything. It’s Quirky in a good way and Savio’s attention to detail provides you with anything you could possibly need. Great location and the perfect host.
