I Balconi sul Barocco

The apartment is spacious, with a lovely living room, terrasse, two bedrooms at the same level (it has another bedroom at the top level), a small but fully equipped kitchen, a psacious entrance, all very well maintained and decorated. The owner Giuseppe was very friendly and helpful, he picked us up from the bus station and showed us some good restaurants. Wifi was best in the livingroom but still OK in the bedrooms.

No complaints whatsoever.

Apartment was spacious, Bathrooms were updated. Location excellent. It was easy to contact the owner via Whatsapp.

Some of the furnishings were too "vintage" and need updating. Our biggest problem related to the fact that we were very early in the season (March 17-23) and the apartment was simply cold despite good heaters in the bedrooms and dining room. The biggest issue was the kitchen which had no heat and was just frigid. The induction cooktop was hard to operate and provided no warmth to the room from cooking. There were minor issues like no multi-outlet so that the toaster and the microwave could be plugged in at the same time.

The location is top! The house is very central in the lower city and, as a bonus, above the best cafe and ice cream shop in Modica. The house a charming, old and original property in Modica and is huge. Very quirky furnishing mix of antiques, vintage and kitsch. The terrace, which is built in between surrounding buildings, has no views but offers a nice and private space to sit outside. The balcony looks out over one of the main streets in Modica.

As this is an old house, it is pretty dark inside and the layout is not very practical. The bathroom is a bit small and dark and the kitchen fairly basic but that comes with the fact that the house is mostly left in its original state.

The location couldn't be better. In the centre of town with restaurants, bars and shopping on the doorstep. Railway station an easy 15 minute walk. Giuseppe, our host, was always on hand to help with any questions or issues. The apartment was superb with all facilities including two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There was also a spacious terrace where we could sit out. The air conditioning was important for us.

Really for us there was nothing that could be improved.
