Everything! The decor was calming and fresh. Peaceful location. Huge bath was perfect after walking the city walll

Amazing location , 10mins to the centre. Clean and homely. The most comfortable beds I think I've slept on! Great host communication

"A great location for exploring the city."

Location excellent for exploring City of Chester as was only 5 minutes walk away.

Perhaps an extra comfy chair if 4 adults were staying. A small tray would have been useful to carry morning cups of tea up the steep narrow staircase !

"Great location but not as clean as expected"

Location was great -a short walk into Chester and parking was really useful too. Hygge homes were responsive when I raised my concerns about cleaning initially. The downstairs living area was a lovely space.hl.k

On arrival the house wasn't clean- particularly the floors, dust and cobwebs. The black bin was so full it wouldn't close. The hosts did offer and organise a further clean for the next day but this did mean 1 of our 3 nights was in a house that wasn't very clean. The cottage itself looked a bit more tired than the photos. Even after the second clean we noticed some cobwebs and crumbs on the floor.

"The cottage was a complete letdown but Chester is a lovely place"

Location was good close to river and a short walk along river side to the bridge which lead straight into the center of town

Cottage smelled of damp The kitchen was dirty with dampness on the ceiling Sink was disgusting draining rack rusty and dirty, cobwebs, greasy units, washing up bowl greasy, I could go on but I’m sure you have the idea Damp in wardrobes, marked bed linen, stained pillowcases, someone’s work shirt left in wardrobe again I could go on Seemed to be an issue with whichever cleaning company they use On a better note the host was helpful and moved us to a different place
