"Bathroom & shower were disappointing. Definitely not for people with mobility problems."

5.0

Location excellent, easy walk into the village, good parking at the cottage. Bed was comfortable and linen very nice. Downstairs kitchen & lounge area were comfortable.

The house felt cold when we arrived (September). Stairs were very steep and narrow. The stairs would be a problem for anyone (like my husband) who has mobility issues. The bedroom was confined. Shower room was downstairs, very small, shower door didn't fasten properly, toiletries dropped out of the hanging holder, which got in the way because the shower was so small. Power of the shower was very weak.

"We arrived just at the same time as Laura the host was arriving home. What a lovely friendly young lady she is."

Although it suited us, the staircase to the bedroom is a little narrow and maybe a problem for some people.

"A home away from home!"

Goed uitgeruste cottage, rustig gelegen, maar toch dicht bij het centrum, heel vriendelijke gastvrouw en gastheer.

"We left after three of our seven days"

4.0

It was within half a mile of a useful supermarket, a good café and several pubs which we didn't use but had the usual menus.

the key lock had a known difficulty and we had to call upon the owner who struggled with it too. All the cutlery had to be washed as it was dirty. The pots provided appeared unsuitable for the induction hob. e.g. having put boiling water into a pan for pasta it did not reach boiling point after half and hour and we gave up. most importantly the accommodation is unsuitable for seniors or even heavy people; Taking a suitcase up the very narrow stairs did not feel safe and the shower is tiny. although we were there before the weather got really hot we found it unbearable in the bedroom. a faulty fan more suited to a desk had been provided but was useless. minor point; the garden view is of a fence and the terrace or patio was dirty, untidy and without a broom being provided stayed that way. The owner was the least welcoming in fact the place showed no signs of welcome. suffice to say we were and are very disappointed so much so that we left on Tuesday. If owners were to spend at least 3 or 4 days in their properties trying to live as usual to gauge suitability us renters may not have to waste our holiday time and money.

"Lovely stay and would definitely return"

Very nice accommodation, very easy to get around and really nice scenery.

The sofa could have been a little bigger to be even more comfortable.

The location was brilliant, walking distance from the centre of the small town of Downton - which was most convenient as it was the time of the busy Cuckoo Fair that is held every year on the Saturday before the early May Bank Holiday; it made a car parking space essential. Everything needed for a comfortable stay had been provided, in very clean and tidy manner. Who could wish for more? Family members who we arranged to meet there on Day 2 travelled from Dorset, Hampshire, and Somerset - all found us easily. All in all, it was a home from home - and I could easily have spent a week there!
