Eagle Mountain River Retreat

They place was very nice, clean,and comfortable.

We had a rocky start, we didn't receive the access code into the place so had to wait over an hour to get it because the owners we on vacation in Greece. But their son was on top of it doing everything he could to get us in. Luckily the back door was unlocked and he told us to go in thru it. Then a little while later the owners called and was very apologetic and sent everything we needed.

Our family loved the location of the property. The deer were amazing to see. In fact we counted almost 100 deer in one night. The owners are absolutely amazing! Even though we weren’t at the cabin very much we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We actually had a hiccup upon arrival but the owners were on top of it. Which made it nice because most places will ignore you or you’ll have to pester them but that wasn’t the case here. The owners quickly responded and were beyond helpful, understanding and friendly. We would definitely rent through them again!

It was a well thought out, fully furnished place. The hot tub, outdoor patio gas fire pit, outdoor fire pit, gaming room, and kitchen was well stocked. We liked the pac-man machine, and we appreciated the free beer left in the fridge. We liked the fireplace. It heated up the house quickly. We liked how responsive Danielle was to questions and guiding us on how to use the hot tub and other equipment. The living room was really comfortable and cozy. We logged into our Netflix account and watched some movies with a glass of wine. We also had a small barbecue on Easter Sunday and really appreciated the outdoor grill. The furniture was made from wood. It looked like some of the furniture we saw in the Amish furniture stores in town. All in all, this place is a great home away from home. While it was only 3 of us, the place could easily hold two more families comfortably.

None of the bathrooms were attached to the bedrooms. In India, it is common for every bedroom to have its own bathroom. There was no heat in the basement aside from an electric heater. It is like the central HVAC system was only connected on the first and second floor only. We were glad for the electric heater though, as it made coming back from the hot tub easier. When we arrived, there were towels in the dryer. The housekeeping staff could have folded them and had them ready for the next guest. We ended up folding some of them ourselves. There is a cleaning fee charged, and we assume these items would not be self service if we are paying extra for it. The swing and hammock outside was dirty. It could have been swept and wiped clean before check-in. Nothing was disgusting. We are talking just dust from weeks and weeks of it not being swept off. Sweeping before guests arrive would make it nicer for guests. The bathroom designs put the toilet right in the doorway. We are worried we might drop something inside coming in and out of the bathroom. With all this said, a lot of caring thought was put into many of the details in the cabin, so none of these things are showstoppers, and we of course highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice getaway. These are just extra niceties that go above and beyond.

It was SOOO clean! Danielle and Dominic are absolutely AMAZING hosts! The hot tub is to die for…even on a 10 degree night!

Beautiful home. I liked the jacuzzi and the area.

There wasn't a ceiling fan in the master bedroom and there was 1 of the rooms with no TV. Dart Board did not work and pool table needs some maintenance. Not all of the Jets worked in the jacuzzi.

The location was perfect. Plenty of space for everyone. Loved the hot tub.

Need a colander and couple more utensils. Needed more water pressure in shower.

From the moment the reservation was made, the owner contacted us, answered all questions, sent more photos, welcomed us and gave fantastic advice on what to do in the area. Once we arrived it was everything we hoped it would be and so much more. When you go to new places with kids it can seem disruptive to them, this felt like home when we walked through the door. A special, magical, cabin in the woods home, but still the comfortable feeling of belonging.

We didn't like leaving, we all wanted to stay longer.
