Large 5 bed 3 bath house 300 meters from beach and restaurants

Host contacted me to explain about the property heating and parking which was nice touch. House was lovely and warm. Very close to Newquay station which was how we arrived and keys easy to collect. Its a large house, the two living rooms worked well with kids and TV watching. Wifi repeaters in every room so excellent connection everywhere. Room to dry wetsuits in room at back. Big dining room, with room for all of us, a bit like a business meeting room one of us thought! Very close to the Great Western beach, supermarkets, coffee shops, pub, cafes and restaurants. Buses at end of road. All good.

Great size plenty of space for a big family. The two living rooms were ideal so the oldies had one and the teens had their own space to watch tv on a night. Dining room is great for larger families so everyone can eat together. Well equipped kitchen. Washing machine was useful, as was the additional space in the utility room. Location was perfect for walks to the beach/shops. Close to all big supermarkets which was great for loading up. Parking permit was great, we used that in all the car parks we went to. Mark left us flowers and milk for our arrival which was very kind and appreciated. We reported an issue mid stay and he was quick to respond - met him at the property lovely guy.

There was a bit of smell in the kitchen which was pretty bad when we arrived, tried all sorts to get rid of it. Ended up getting room scents to dot about. Didn’t notice it as much by the end of the week. We cleaned the windows inside and out downstairs ourselves as they were extremely dirty. The bath hot water pressure is none existent so had to fill it using a bucket to carry hot water up from the kitchen so that the toddler could get a bath. Bathroom sink and shower plug holes were both blocked - took a while for water to drain away. Shower tray had two long cracks in. WiFi wasn’t great, despite leaving the doors open to help the router signal it still meant the TVs buffered. We didn’t connect any devices to the WiFi as it really struggled. It wasn’t great weather whilst we were there and we had no access to the heating controls so it was chilly in the mornings and evenings, although there were throws in the living rooms. The car park opposite is very very tight and we thought we had to park in that one with the pass so it would have been useful to perhaps have a welcome book explaining things such as being able to use the pass in literally any council car park in Cornwall. However after a few days we figured that bit out so park in an easier one near the park. The house in general could benefit from a full deep clean and a bit of maintenance.

It was clean and tidy and the location is excellent. It was also very well equipped.

There was an occasional smell from the drain in the downstairs shower room/bathroom. It was also a bit disappointing that we could not use the lovely freestanding bath due to the water pressure.

For the price you should have access to all amenities. The water doesn't drain quickly , there was a dirty pot filled with old cigarette butt's, doesn't seem to be completely cleaned properly as old shells and sand in buckets. There were stains on some of the duvets , not really what you expect for the price.

The house was spacious, which was good as there were 10 of us. It had 2 sitting rooms, which was a bonus. The house was clean & in a fantastic location. Cout yard at back of house is a sun trap . All amenities are in walking distance. We would definitely stay here again

Really great house, great rooms, comfy beds and sofas, great kitchen including utensils. Really handy location too

Wi-Fi was terrible, seriously bad. A little instruction manual for recycling and a few other things would have been good too

Great Location, steps away from the Station and Supermarkets, Lots of space, very clean. could comfortably take many more people. Parking permit included even though we didn't require one ourselves. Had all the equipment and utensiles you could need.

Wifi didnt cover whole house.

I like position, large bedrooms, big dining room and double living room.

There isn't a dishwasher (for 9/11 people it is terrible) and a clothes driyer (we had two weeks of bad weather); there are few pans to cook for many people; the house is not really for eleven people, but at most for 9 people and 2 children. The house is not detached as in the photo. Unfortunately for us, there were scaffolders that work everyday, also on Sunday, and contructed almost another house in two weeks. They were endeed very clever! When we were leaving, we asked to leave only the luggages for 1 hour in the house, til the taxi came, but they refused. We had to stay in the street nearby, because it was too difficult to carry heavy bags. The owners could be more flexible in this case...
