"Cold and brief( we only used it for sleeping)"

6.0

It’s a cute little cottage and the owner has made an effort to keep it very clean and in good condition. The kitchen is well equipped and the owner is easy to contact and pleasant to interact with.

The heating was off when we arrived( late at night) and I couldn’t figure it out, although I did try to adjust the thermostat. I was out the next day and forgot to ask the owner how to put the heating on until I returned again, late at night. So we were freezing both nights. Ideally the heating should be set in advance of guests arriving. When we arrived, the front door lock was very hard to open, we thought it had jammed. We contacted the owner and she told us the key was just temperamental. We got in, but if the owner had been asleep when we arrived, we would have been locked out. The lock should be changed, or at least, guests should be informed that it is a difficult lock, so they don’t find themselves locked out at night. There was a smell of smoke through the cottage, although everything was clean. This may not be the owners fault as it didn’t smell the last time we stayed. Overall, it is a pleasant place.

"Suited us as a base for a short getaway"

7.0

Good location to town for independent shops/butchey/chippy and bigger Co-Op and Tesco. Check-in instructions were clear and property felt secure. We were pre-warned that parking is on-street 300 yards either way. Property was clean and sofa and beds/bedding were comfortable. New carpets upstairs and hot water/heating worked perfectly.

Caught out that there is no dining table, although the property is very small so no space to have one, just a realisation when we served tea on the first night. Just a heads up for those with younger children or who don’t like eating off trays. The kitchen felt like a bit of an afterthought with a mish-mash of crockery and rickety old frying pan etc. Had a sense of a charity shop trip rather than the investment the rest of the property had. Inevitable road noise from lorries which creates a strange echo through the passageway. Again, just for other travellers to be aware; was fine for us out and about all day. Last point to be aware of - there are no internal doors downstairs, so if travelling with pets you may prefer to bring a crate.

Nothing, a great cottage and if we're back in the area, we'll look to book again

"Cosy, comfortable and in the ideal location for us to complete our walk of the Offa’s Dyke Path."

10.0

The location was the main reason for choosing this cottage.

Nothing. Just an observation, though. If we had been looking to eat in (which we weren’t, except for breakfasts) there was no table or chairs to sit at. It might be useful for other guests to be apprised of this before staying here.

"Fab location in wales for exploring with lots of convenience on the doorstep"

Home from home, cute comfortable, welcoming

Small garden, no parking, but both can’t be helped & didn’t impact our stay
