Das Haus ist schön aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Es ist feucht und riecht muffig. Die Badezimmerschränke sind von Wasserschäden aufgequollen und dort fühlen sich dementsprechend die Kakerlaken wohl. Nach mehreren Begegnungen mit diesen lieblichen Tieren haben wir das Zimmer gewechselt. Die Matratzen und Kopfkissen sind extrem hart. Es gab auch keine Auswahl an verschiedenen Kissen, so dass wir alle Nackenschmerzen hatten. Es fehlt ein wenig Aufmerksamkeit wie in fast allen Ferienwohnungen, die den Unterschied machen würde: Pflege der Spülmachine, regelmäßige Küchengrundreinigung, Schärfen der Messer, Austauschen der spülmaschinengeschädigten Gläser, vor allem der inzwischen blinden Weingläser, Pflege der Bepflanzungen und Entfernen der abgefallenen Palmblätter und fast toten Pflanzen. Der Nachbar von gegenüber verwandelt die Ruhe leider häufig in ein open air- Festival. Ansprache ist fehlgeschlagen.

Location is great, not too close to the city center but not too far! the house is well maintained, fully equipped, big, and makes you feel like home, we were sad to leave the place after 9 nights, we will come back to again one day!

The house is very spacious, ideal for friends and their children. It is surrounded by porches and a few outdoor' terraces, which made it very easy to be outside. You can see the sea!.There is toilet paper, a toaster, microwave and all you need to heat your food or to cook. The neighborhood is very quiet; even though it is ten mins to the centre by car, there are very steep streets to access the house (Funchal expands on its hills), so you would need a car, or to afford Uber and Bolt that work in the area. The tourist tax was not included when we booked the house but we were asked to pay €20. The internet connection was poor. In general we loved the house, quietness and privacy on this time of the year.

The property was large with 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a large living room and separate kitchen. It was well furnished with traditional furniture and fittings, including washing machine and dishwasher. The bedroom balconies had good views over Funchal. While a little way from the city centre, it was an easy walk downhill to the Old Town in 20 minutes. The villa is in a safe residential area which is quiet (apart from barking dogs occasionally). Some useful information about the area was available. There was a regular bus service back up to near the property for 1.95 Euros, or a taxi to the villa at about 6 Euros. The caretaker Manuel was easy to contact and helpful.

A little way above the city, the property was distinctly cool in February during the evenings, with limited heating available. It was a pity that more information about how things worked, where things were kept, and the local bus services, was not available. On arrival we asked if 3 adults and 3 children could be accommodated at the villa for 5 days in addition to the two of us. We paid 1093 Euros for this, on a per person basis, by direct bank transfer to the owner. Unfortunately, one adult and one child could not attend at the last minute, but a request for a part refund of the fees and visitor taxes was rejected. This was disappointing as we had declared the extra visitors in good faith.

Too far to walk to and from the centre of Funchal. House is a little old fashioned. Poor lighting in kitchen and living area.

The house is very large, all the rooms are big and it has 4 bathrooms. The terraces are great, as are the views and we loved having the BBQ to each outside some evenings. It is in a very nice part of town. There was plenty of space for all of us and it was good value for money.

Unfortunately the house and downstairs terrace was filled with mosquitos. We bought some plug in mosquito repellants for the bedrooms which worked but had to always wear tucked in socks downstairs. We couldn't open the door to one of the bedrooms on the first night and thought it was locked and someone had to sleep on the sofa. The person looking after the property did come over the next morning and manage to open it. It was a bit annoying to have no dishwasher tablets or pods for the coffee machine until after going to the super market. You have to drive to get to any shops.

Amazing huge house with gorgeous views, spotlessly clean and so much outdoor space. I travelled with three friends for a much needed girls holiday and we absolutely loved having a bedroom and a bathroom each. There was so much space as the rooms are a fantastic size, the house was super clean with excellent facilities. the house is in a beautiful street and the walk down into town was lovely, through really nice neighbourhood; it's too steep to walk back, but taxis and buses were very affordable and really quick. There was always hot water, and we could all take a shower at the same time to get ready to go out, which was great. The outdoor terraces upstairs were gorgeous, with stunning views over the city and mountains, we sadly didn't get to use them as much as we would have liked due to the inclement weather, but they are fantastic spaces. We were greeted with a Madeira cake and a bottle of wine on arrival, which was a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Unfortunately the weather was not great for the time we were there and the house was a little cold in the mornings, also there were dogs barking all night as they seem to be left in people's gardens at night, but ear plugs sorted that out. The downstairs was a little dark, but again I think this was due to the weather so couldn't be helped.
