The Saddle Resort

From the check in; right until the check out process, we were warmly accomodated by the owner of the resort. The affable Sister Yazleen was gracious to entertain our requests and be the horse trainer to my 3 children. 2 of them given basic training until they are confident enough to ride independently in only 1 hours time! The accomodation was basic and spartan. If you are expecting a full-service type of hotel/resort, then you would be dissapointed. However the vast compound and the close vicinity to the Sepat beach was a deal clincher for our family, especially for our children. For me, it was worth the money spent for a 3 days, 2 night weekend getaway with the family..

Lush green surrounding, fresh air , open space , near beach though have to cross the road. Such a lovely location and many possibilities to develop. The beach is across the main road and not private.

Saddle resort is no resort. It does not have a hot water system. The furniture is old. The bed frames are really old. The mattress slants towards the outside as the other side is against the wall. The bedframe is partially against the entrance of the bathroom folding door. The mouldy smelly wardrobe has a single hanger. The aluminium table and chairs has mould. The sink moves. There is no proper vanity shelf for putting any of our toothpaste, brushes or shaver. There is no power outlet except for the water jug outlet. There is another outlet way up high on the wall of the bathroom. My guess it's meant for water heater but did not happen to install. Doesn't seem to be an outlet for the shaver or hairdryer. There is an old two tiered shelf with a jug. There are ants in the bathroom as well as in the room. The owner was pleasant and friendly and when requested for an additional bath towel and a floor mat, we were given them immediately. For one night twin or double room costs RM 154.. Not many eateries in the place except for local stalls which serve local Malay food. Have to go to Kuantan town for the variety. But one very affordable Western style food is at Chop and Grill nearby. Nice owners. Chef came out to meet us.

Very welcoming host that waiting at receptionist counter. The place was really great for money .
