The cottage we stayed in is located in a lovely peaceful setting. It is tastefully decorated and comfortable with two double bedrooms. There are several outdoor spaces to sit in, with magnificent views over the valley. There is also a lovely swimming pool as well as a sauna and hot tub.

Beautiful place to stay and beautiful surroundings. The hosts are so sweet and accommodating. Would happily return.

We just returned from the most incredible holiday in Portugal, and Casa Paz was truly the highlight of our trip! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Liz, Mark, and Lucy, who are the most wonderful hosts. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. The location is absolutely stunning in of nature, offering breathtaking scenery and a peaceful atmosphere that allows you to fully unwind. The tranquility of the surroundings was just what we needed, and the presence of the sweet resident cats was such a delightful bonus! I particularly loved Tiko the part time feline resident. The accomodation is fantastic so many places to sit you can follow the sun around the property. Art and vintage pieces all around the property. We had the pool to ourselves if we so wanted almost the entire week. Same for the hotter and sauna. Breakfast each morning was a treat—delicious, fresh, and made with so much care. It was the perfect way to start the day before exploring the beautiful Tavira region. Being able to spend quality time with my family in such a special place made our stay even more memorable. We are already planning our return and can’t recommend Casa Paz highly enough! We didn't like leaving.

Mark and Liz were fantastic hosts and could not do enough for us. Breakfast was a delicious spread. The property is set up in the hills, with lovely views and very green .

Casa Paz was a great location to stay during our visit to Tavira. It was close to town, but we enjoyed being out in the country to unwind in the evenings. The kitchen was well equipped so we were able to eat our breakfasts and simple dinners at our lodging. The weather was cold and we were able to use the hot tub and take a walk. But we did not use the pool or outside seating areas.

The access to Casa Paz is a long narrow twisty dirt drive that is difficult to ascertain from the main road. I recommend arriving while it is still daylight. (We missed the turn and ended up in a neighbor's farmyard with his sheep!)

Property is in such a quiet and stunning location … so peaceful with so many places to sit … a great pool area and hot tub on the hillside. Mark and Liz were great and very friendly hosts

The hosts, Mark and Lizzie, were exceptionally attentive to all our needs. The breakfast was extra but extremely well worth the time and a wonderful way to start each day. I have a gluten-free diet, and the food was amazing.

I can't think of anything because we wanted off the beaten path location, and the location was close enough to the charming town of Tavira that we had no complaints.

We spent our two-week summer holidays at Casa Paz. Lizzy and Mark were great hosts, always helpful and friendly. They gave us lots of good tips on which beaches are worth visiting, where to park for free, etc. Mark sent us the best places directly to our phones via WhatsApp. Our room, with a very practical kitchen and all the necessary cooking utensils, was clean, tidy and lovingly furnished. We had a terrace where we could have dinner. While sitting at the table, the grapes could be picked directly from the vines. Lizzy and Mark have created a little paradise in the hills east of Tavira. Casa Paz has a beautiful garden with exotic flowers and trees, a saltwater pool and a hot tub. Colin, the ornamental carp, has his own pool, which he shares with a family of frogs. The frogs like to sit lazily in the midday sun around Colin's pool. They are really lazy and never croak. The crew of Casa Paz also includes three cats, which can be seen chasing butterflies or sunbathing. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and we could express our wishes. Fruit from Caza Paz's own carob tree found its way into Lizzy's delicious pancakes. The view from the breakfast terrace over the neighbouring hills is beautiful. Down in the valley, a small river winds its way through the landscape, but it is dry for most of the year. The picturesque town of Tavira, through which the Rio Gilao flows, is easily accessible by car. Tavira is a small town with cultural life and old buildings, but also modern supermarkets and everything you need. There are several beautiful beaches with fine white sand that can be easily reached by car. At night, the only sound you can hear at Casa Paz is the sound of the wind, the chirping of crickets or the barking of a dog somewhere in the distance. There is absolutely no traffic noise and the atmosphere is very peaceful. We felt very much at home at Casa Paz and can recommend it wholeheartedly. Hence the long text.

The owners were excellent hosts. Welcoming and warm. It is a place we would always return to.
