BEACHES - South Sands beach house

Location was excellent, only 15-20 min walk back into Torquay, or 5 minute drive. The house was extremely well appointed with a bathroom, and or en suite available to all bedrooms. Immacultely clean throughout. Off road parking - 2 spaces outside property was a real bonus.

Little touches such as breakfast crockery laid out and towels rolled and presented on beds.

Road noise consistent throughout night!! This is obviously personal to us as we live in countryside.

Genuinely everything! spacious, clean, well equipped, comfortable, great view! up to date best place we have stayed in Torquay and all surrounding areas! children loved it as much if not more than we did 😊

single beds top floor were uncomfortable, didn’t feel very stable. As a fire safety manager the doors to the upper floors were fire doors, but wouldn’t do much in the event of a fire due to the doors didn’t latch, main bedroom, twin bedroom door it was stuck and had to force in as latch handles would not release the latch.

Superb location that is easy to find, ample parking and close to lovely beaches. The host was easily contactable and very helpful and friendly. The house was very spacious, spotlessly clean, felt newly decorated and fitted out with everything you could need for home-from-home convenience. It even had a little garden that was suntrap and a sea view from the front bedroom and lounge.

We personally liked the sound of the railway line immediately behind the house. It is a branch line so only the odd train going to and from Paignton (which is the end of the line) passed during the day. However, the main road immediately outside of the house (Torbay Road from Torquay to Paignton and Brixham) was very busy. This did mean that we didn't want to sit outside on the balconies and with the bi-fold doors open in the bedroom and lounge, could hear noisy traffic day and night.
