Sunnybrook - A luxurious Carbon Neutral House close to beach, Shaldon

Excellent secluded spot, visually very appealing property, cosy for a small family, nice geographical area. The owner was very responsive and helpful in locating the baby travel cot available - much appreciated. You can tell there is a lot of love and pride in this special property (this is at odds with the management company’s communications). A great find.

Fresh Escapes who manage the property have really terrible communications - the tone is off and lots of emails landed with generic inapplicable information or missing “insert here” type gaps, excessive information and formatting which makes it hard to work out what is important and not. The property could do with a deep clean (under/behind beds for instance), shower is a wet room affair but we really couldn’t find a way to shower without covering the entire room in water despite best efforts.

Very nice property. I loved the kitchen. Everything was thought out so well. Design was so nice. Everything was so functional, easy to use and beautiful. Location was close to the town and some other interesting sights nearby. Wood fired hot tub was a bit of work but was fun to use. It is nice to have an outdoor kitchen area so we could even continue our barbecue here when it started drizzling. Very nice place to stay.

Letting agency asks too many personal details and they want this info and some other critical details are to be entered into an online website. I wasn't comfortable with this as this day and age, a small website like theirs can easily be hacked and this info could get stolen. I found this very unnecessary and intrusive. In reality if there is a damage to the house there is nothing they can do with the info provided. It was an unnecessary, intrusive and to be honest annoying requirement. If they are worried about a damage, it would be wiser to get some deposit and return it later on.

The location was easy to find and very close and accessible to both Shaldon and Teignmouth. The stay was overall very comfortable with plenty to see and do in the local area. The property still feels relatively newly refurbished and the host has also arranged for a plentiful supply of indoor games and books for the kids in case of rain or just for evening fun. A good mix of indoor and outdoor space in the property.

The property was pretty clean although there was still a fair amount of cobwebs around. We also didn't find the beds or the linen particularly comfortable or luxurious. The electric kettle did not always work which we did report. The hot tub is also log-burning so beware it will take time, very frustrating and we couldn't get it going in the end which was disappointing (aware this could just be my skills at log-burning). We did however use the logs in the fire pit in the evenings instead. There are no views from the property with just the immediate garden or the gate to see.

Gorgeous house! Hot tub was a lot bigger then expected. Beds were super comfy.

Bring fly spray! Due to location you get lots of fly.(Not the host's fault) Need a car to get around, not as close as you think. Hot tub can be abit of a nightmare to keep warm. However all in all a lovely house!

Very pretty property,beautifully decorated interior, wonderful spec kitchen and bathrooms,loved the hot tub in amazing tranquil surroundings,patio around property lovely with great touches with seating areas and outside utility. Pretty perfect.

Very nice, fully equipped modern cottage. Comfortable accommodation for 5-6 people. Very quiet (practically zero traffic on the narrow, adjacent road). Nicely kept garden and outdoors seating area. The ideal base for exploring beautiful South Devon.

the accommodation was perfect for our family holiday, but it is fairly pricey.
