My family and I checked in on November 26 and were immediately shocked by the condition of this property. We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years, and we have never encountered one this poorly maintained or neglected. Basic essentials were missing like, no garbage bags, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, toilet paper, or even teaspoons. The refrigerator water filter also needs to be replaced. On Thanksgiving morning, instead of enjoying our holiday, we had to drive to a CVS just to purchase basic supplies that should have been provided. The cleanliness was appalling. There was sand all over the floors, numerous bugs, and torn, stained furniture. Several towels had red or pink stains. The master shower was especially concerning: the walls and floor felt oily, the water pressure was extremely low, the water was barely warm, and the showerhead is broken and moves in and out of the wall because it is not secured. This is not just inconvenient; it’s unsafe. Many areas of the home looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. The master bedroom dresser had hair, debris, and what looked like bug remnants inside the drawers. Behind the bed, we found stacked pieces of flooring and piles of debris that appeared to be from termites or dirt mites, which triggered my allergies. No effort seems to have been made to provide a healthy or sanitary environment. There are far too many issues to list, but we have photos and videos documenting everything. This property should not be rented in its current condition. It is misleading and unsanitary and shows a complete lack of care for guests’ safety and comfort. I strongly urge future guests to reconsider booking this property until it has been thoroughly cleaned, repaired, and brought up to a basic standard of habitability.
