"Lovely place, perfect as a home away from home"

10.0

Lovely cosy cottage in a quiet spot right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Great hosts who were very friendly and helpful. Close to local shops if you need anything (10min drive), and most of the main attractions in the park are no more than 45min drive away. Perfect for a secluded family holiday whether you are outdoorsy or just wanted to have some quiet nights in.

"Perfect quiet location. Beautiful Grade ll listed accommodation."

10.0

A family of 8. The Hayloft was just perfect. During our booking and up to our arrival we were kept fully updated by our lovely hosts Julie & Nick. Glanhenwye consists of three grade ll listed cottages. With a 200 year old cobbled courtyard area. (Exquisite). The accommodation on arrival was immaculate. To greet us was a thoughtful welcome pack to include Tea, coffee, bread, milk, chocolate, popcorn & Welsh cakes. Each of the double bedrooms are large and furnished elegantly. One with a King - king size bed. The wardrobes are interesting and were a topic of conversation. The kitchen is well appointed with adequate equipment and crockery for our large group. The lounge area with comfortable sofas, wood burner and hi fi turntable (with a selection of vinyls) was a nice touch. So remember to bring your own.. There was even a Neil Diamond LP 👍. The bathrooms are decorated beautifully with a selection of luxury soaps.. The external area has various garden seating/picnic points to relax in. Within the courtyard area is a table tennis and a boulder climbing wall too. Glanhenwye is the perfect location for exploring Bannau Brycheiniog etc. Brecon 20 mins and Hay 5 mins. Perfect.. By the way you are off the main road area. So quiet, peaceful and private..

Good accommodation, nice garden, warm welcome from the hosts. Clean and well appointed.

Some family found the bed uncomfortable but on the whole very good.

"Always a pleasure to have expectations surpassed"

10.0

We stayed at Glanhenwye for a family affair of 19 for ashes sprinkling in nearby Abergavenny. There was a mixture of ages spanning 4-76, plus dog. think everyone was chuffed to bits with the accommodation and location. Julie and Nick even kept the rain at bay for us as part of their supreme hosting skills. The 3 units allowed good social yet allowed people to have down time. The place surpassed expectations in every which way and we were discussing our next visit before we had left. The accommodation itself is to a high spec and has some lovely features such as visible beams and a massive table for us all the have dinner round. The games area and bbqs were greatly appreciated too. I particularly liked the record player and vinyl in each unit. Thanks for such a memorable stay.

The house is perfect. Large beds. Cozy rooms. A charming place for privacy in the round windows. Plenty of space for children to play hide and seek :) Place for active games, table tennis and a climbing wall. Right from the yard there are three walking routes of varying difficulty. A beautiful view from the window into the courtyard, where bunnies and pheasants run in the morning. Great internet.

During our April trip the heating comes on at a certain time and on rainy days after walking around the house was cool. There were insects in the rooms at times.

"Wonderful cottage, friendly hosts and lovely location."

10.0

The peaceful location was very nice and the hosts were really friendly and happy to help with any queries we had. The cottage had everything we wanted and was so spacious and clean and was near to some very nice locations such as Hay on the Wye. There were some fun board games to play and we enjoyed playing table tennis and using the record player which was an interesting addition and lots of other lovely touches throughout.

The bed was a little restrictive as the bottom footboard meant I couldn't stretch out fully and it would have been good to have a blind available for the large round window in the bedroom but these were minor issues that didn't really cause us any major issues.

"Luxuary and a beautiful and accessible part of the world"

10.0

The best of all worlds... mountains to climb, interesting routes for a short walk and book shops with cafes. O and a Castle and a pretend self-appointed King of the Kingdom of Hay!
