Sorrento's Holidays Rooms

Perfect location- walking distance to everything. Easy check in/ out. Apartment was clean and tidy. Great kitchen for home cooked meals. Spacious apartment and nice to have outdoor patio.

Hot water was not consistent in shower and kept going cold each time. Walls are quite thin so you can easily hear people in corridor and from neighbouring apartments- no fault of the host, but there was lots of yelling and a dog barking late at night that woke us.

Very unclean, arrived to smell of cigarettes, lots of crumbs on couch. Not a very easy to find address. Uncomfortable bed, shower ran cold in under a minute

The agent provided immediate responses to any queries we had and happily booked a taxi for us on the last day which was no easy task as it was very wet this day after the heat wave. Everyone wanted taxis. The location was close to the city centre and the air con was a bonus in the heat. Supermarket and good restaurant at end of street. The apartment was as described but missing the finer details.

I will start this by saying we have stayed in many apartments in our 8 months travelling this year and I have never been moved to write a review like this. This apartment was unfortunately lacking in comparison to others. It had not been menioned that the toilet system meant no paper down the toilet so the bidet was an essential item. Most importantly the shower was either boing hot or freezing cold. We were asked to limit showers to 10 mins. This was not problem. Because it was so unregulated, 2 mins max was the cooking time anyway! Information was in a file that was not sorted. It had information about Sorrento but not the apartment. That was found on the fridge, on the front door, above the toilet and by the entrance which meant it was not immediatelyclear. On arrival it was nice to be given a large bottle of water but we had no coffee, milk or kitchen essentials such as salt and pepper, oil, things that are usually left for travellers. We had to go to the shop to get supplies on arriving after a long day travelling. There was no toaster and using the oven was the only option, but not a very practical one. The coffee pot was an Italian espresso pot which I love but it was only for 1 person and that for a small cup. A bigger pot would have been appreciatd. Everyone uses google maps but a hard copy of a map would have been useful and easy to include. There were no bathrobes provided, again not essential but it was on the list. Sorrento is a very expensive place to stay in peak season but even with this in mind I thought the apartment did not represent value for the price we paid. I think these things need to be brought to the owner's attention as the agent can only do what their brief is.

An excellent location near bars, restaurants and within walking distance of the train station which took us to Pompeii, Herculaneum etc. The bus to Amalfi was just outside the train station, and a lift at the front took us down to the ferry to Capri. Sorrento is a beautiful town and we couldn't have asked for better accommodation for our visit.

Nothing could have been better. Everything was excellent.
