Immaculate home in central Westport

Upon arrival, I noticed the overly fragrant air freshener. After an hour, allergies were overwhelming, and i was choking from the smell. ELEVEN air fresheners were found in the space. Couldn't imagine what could possibly smell so bad that a 3 bedroom house required so much fragrance. ELEVEN. When I messaged the host about opening windows due to allergies and couldn't breathe, she responded that she was sorry I was warm. Host refused assistance when the first floor toilet backed up and overflowed onto the bathroom floor. No plunger on site. Directed me to 3 different stores to buy my own plunger. 2 didn't carry plungers and the third was closed for the day. We walked to town 3 times. We are not obese Americans who go around clogging European toilets. The clog happened from normal use of a toilet. The toilet remained clogged from 9am when I messaged the host until 8pm when a family member left his farm to come assist his American cousin. When I asked the host why I seemed to be more concerned about her house than she was, she curtly replied that the problem was mine alone and to refer to my booking.com terms and conditions. The showers are horrific..even by European standards. En suite shower stall has 2 temperatures...scalding and ice. Without a shelf for your toiletries in the shower, you will need to bend down and risk scalding your back while picking up your shampoo bottle. The hall shower is just as bad. Milk. When you arrive, you will be provided with 3 cartons of milk. 2 more cartons will arrive on the front step a few days later. So. Much. Milk. The host offers "let me know if you need ANYTHING." It seems "anything" is defined as milk, milk, or biscuits. If you ask for assistance to find a plunger... you are on your own.

Great location just a 10 minute walk to the town centre, right beside Tesco's, the house is an end terrace on a quiet cul de Sac, the only noise is the sound of kids playing outside. The back garden is closed off so it was perfect to let the kids play. The house is nice and spacious. Emer the host was very accommodating she had a travel cot and high left out for us and allowed us to stay over the leaving time as she did not have someone staying the next day.

if I was looking for something to give out about.. the only annoyance was that the microwave did not work properly as the plate could not spin.. only annoying for us as we had small kids so we couldn't risk heating food in it. plus there was no hairdryer so make sure to bring one.

Host provided milk, we self catered for breakfast and we spent our daytimes exploring

I think a shelf in the bathroom for toothbrushes etc would be great

15 minutes walk or short taxi ride to centre of town. Large rooms, well appointed. Nice short riverside walk beside the house for walking the dog.

All was good.

Great Location. A Very Nice Clean House. Nice Hosts. Pet Friendly and a nice Garden. Would go back again.

House is so spacious and is spotless. Beds are so comfortable and house has everything you need to have a wonderful stay. Emer was so helpful with any queries I had. will definitely be back again.

Excellent property for a stay touring Westport and all the beaches/attractions around the town. House is only a 15 minute stroll to the town centre - so easy to reach lots of restaurants and traditional Irish music pubs. Located only 5 minute walk to a large supermarket and cafe. House is spotlessly clean and all the facilities a family would need. If travelling by train, it's only five mins walk to the Train Station.
