High standard Lodge Ballstad

I really liked that its pet friendly !Also good location ,near the city Leknes ,Haukland and Uttakleiv beach’es .

We loved the location and the style of this home.

I imagine it only happens a few days a year but the upstairs was so hot from all that beautiful glass. And there wasn’t a great way to cool it off for sleeping at night.

The property had a very good location. Kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans, utensils. Modern appliances (no microwave). The view was amazing. Strong water pressure and sufficient hot water. Baby gate on the top floor (we were travelling with a baby). Large smart TV. Portable chairs were available which was nice to take with us to the beach.

The upper floor of the property was SUPER HOT and no proper ventilation anywhere. We could barely breathe. There are 2 bedrooms on the top floor and sleeping was impossible with the heat. We switched off central heating as suggested, however there is no AC and no fans. We asked for fans at least but the host just said she will consider it for future guests. The problem is that the huge window upstairs has no blinds or curtains and acts like a green house. The other problem is that on the top floor there is only 1 small window in living room and 1 small window in each of bedrooms, but the windows only open about 5cms maximum, so not enough for air ventilation. Also, none of the bedrooms had blackout curtains, which is a necessity to sleep especially during the midnight sun period. The floors were dusty and lots of hair. The sofa was dirty with lots of hair which looked like it comes from a dog, not sure. It is a pity because it is a nice house but not comfortable to live in. If its hot and light every where, one cannot rest during the night. After 2 connecting flights and a day of travelling, one would not expect to arrive and have to make the bed. The beds and pillows are not ready made, you will just find sheets, etc.. and have to make it yourself.

The cabin are very warm and clean Best of all we spot the northern light clearly that night
