Casa Gentile

The apartment was located in an apartment building. We entered the building after someone came in, then took an old-fashioned elevator to the fourth floor. The host was very welcoming but only spoke Italian. The room was cozy, though a bit cluttered with furniture and amenities. The good side was that everything we needed was there.

There was a bit too much air freshener sprayed in the room, and the sheets also smelled of detergent or softener. Furthermore, after opening the balcony door, there was a strong odor of urine near the dining table, most likely from the host's pet urinating on the balcony. We had to close the balcony door.

The apartment is located about a 10-minute walk from Ortigia. There is a grocery store just a few steps away, as well as a bakery on the next street. The flat has a charming, nostalgic atmosphere and is very spacious. It is extremely well equipped and even included a swimming ring for the kids :-) The bed was comfortable, and extra blankets were provided as well. Marina contacted us a couple of days before our arrival to make sure we would have no trouble finding the apartment. We rented two bikes and were able to store them safely in the entrance area of the house, as it was not recommended to leave them outside. Overall, we had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Parking can be a little challenging during the day, as only street parking is available and the area tends to be quite busy. However, we were still able to find a free parking space on a nearby street.

Man ist zu Fuß schnell in der Stadt und wir konnten schön dem Balkon essen.

Es ist insbesondere nachts sehr laut.

Grand espace offert par cet appartement proche du quartier historique ! L'hôtesse est accueillante et nous a expliqué en italien les sites à ne pas rater.

Un détail à avoir en tête : pas de wifi sur place. Heureusement, beaucoup de restaurants à Ostrigia en mettent une à disposition, qu'on peut capter depuis la rue.

Appartamento ben tenuto, comodo e pulito. La locazione è ottima
