Casa Calles

The location of the apartment is very good if you want to walk around Ortigia. The bathroom is well equipped, there is a washing machine. The kitchen is also full of everything you could need.

The apartment is located on a very narrow street where sunlight rarely reaches, so it felt quite dark throughout the day in January. While the street itself is very quiet and peaceful, you can hear everything when someone passes by—whether it's their footsteps or conversations. This suggests that the window insulation is quite poor.

It was a very nice place, with everything you need. It was very nicely decorated with nice touches. Its location is excellent. Very clean, Two hops and a skip away from the waterfront, grocery stores, coffee shops, you name it. Sabrina is an excellent host, and accommodated my early arrival and weird checkout schedule. And was helpful with everything I needed.

There was nothing to not like.

Lovely spacious, clean apartment. Well equipped kitchen. There was also a washing machine. Nice bedroom with small sitting area. Lovely terrace which was accessed by a spiral staircase. A good sized bathroom. The apartment was close to the Marina & one of the main streets that had a supermarket & plenty of cafes & restaurants. The host was a lovely lady who gave us plenty of information around the local area & arranged a taxi for us to get to the airport at Catania.

The apartment was on the second floor so there were two flights of stairs to get to the apartment. This would have been difficult if you had walking issues. We found the shower a bit erratic. Sometimes we both managed to have warm showers. Sometimes only one of us managed to get a warm shower & on one occasion neither of us had a warm shower. The recycling system was quite difficult. There were bins to put in the plastics, glass, paper, food & general waste. There was a chart advising the day of bin collections which was very good. However, at the end of your stay you had to take all the rubbish whether it was recyclable or not & find a rubbish bin to put it all in. This defeated the object of separating your recycling.

We enjoyed using the rooftop. The apartment is a good size. It has everything you need for a short or long stay.. it was close to Syracusa, which made it easy to walk to catch the bus or train. It was very comfortable.

We stayed 2 weeks but had to pay €15 for a set of clean sheets for the second week. . Washing the existing set was not allowed. The Rugby Club downstairs can be a little loud, especially when they sit outside.

It was extremely well placed, centrally to Siracusa. It was a lovely, well equipped flat.

The room was clean, secure and comfortable. It had a little kitchenette from which we were able to make our own breakfast and dinner. It was located in the old city which made it easy to walk around this picturesque area. The host Sabrina warmly greeted us and advised us on places to see in Ortigia.

We didn’t have any hot water on our last day, but the owner was looking into fixing that.

The host was very friendly and communicated meeting time and location very well. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The location is perfect! It's very close to a supermarket, restaurants, bars, shops and attractions in the old town. We especially appreciated the ability to do our laundry in the room!

It was a big apartment with everything we needed for a longer stay in a great location. Sabina is really helpful and it’s not far to walk from Parcheggio Talete to the apartment. The roof top terrace is fantastic.

Nothing but be aware there are relatively steep steps to access the apartment and especially the terrace. No problems for able bodied people.

The host went above and beyond! Location is excellent and very close to everything you would want to walk to in Ortigia.
