Beautiful old house. Quiet and calm. Really enjoyed sitting around the fire in the kitchen.

The screens in the bedroom were very dusty, which caused some allergies. But after I dusted them, it was fine! It was a little cold but the beds were warm so we weren’t uncomfortable. All the plastic wifi signs in every room ruin the old atmosphere a little, so I suggest just having the one information booklet at the entrance.

We loved EVERYTHING about this property. From the beautiful gardens to every room that so tastefully decorated with antique treasures that suited the 150 year old house.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t like to stay in a traditional, 100-years old Japanese house and feeling like being at home. I would very much recommend this place to families or smaller group of people/ couples travelling together and staying for at least two nights or more.

It is quite remote from the next transportation stops (Tadotsu or Marugame train stations or Zentsuji bus stop) are all at least 45 minutes away if you walk. Taxi from Tadotsu JR station was ca. 1,400 Yen. It would be great if the property (or someone nearby) had bicycles for rent.

Special kind of house. Beautiful!

It was a little expensive for us, but we definitely got what we paid for. It was beautiful and a lot of fun staying there.
