Casa Raffaella

Location in the Old Town was great and close to the beach. It is quaint, clean and comfortable. Marianne went above and beyond, collecting us from the station at night as no taxi available to take us to the apartment upon arrival. Friendly neighbour too.

If you arrive by train expect to walk from the station. Taxis are very hard to come by in this town, And buses too.

Bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. Location good.

Living room and kitchen facilities could do with refresh. Apartment feels small with low ceilings and lack of natural light. Old town location means street/neighbour noise during day but okay at night.

The stay was good. The apartment is located on 2 floors and it looks charming with the white bricks. I loved the location outside of the apartment which is very picturesque and romantic (the Italian nonna who always greeted us added to the charm of the location). The host waited for us although we were late due to train delays and we communicated a lot during this delay time. From this stay, I liked the most the location and the closeness to the beaches, the very comfortable bed and the AC that worked perfectly. It was very close to the beach, you could hear and smell the sea, but you could also hear some noise (which did not actually bother us). It was also close to restaurants and the old town, in the night there was a great atmosphere in that location.

Although the hosts were nice, I felt the communication between the 2 of them seemed to not be accurate, both of them asking me the exact same question in the same days. I advise them to align and only have 1 of them communicate with the tourist to not add up to the confusion (at some point I was afraid maybe some of them it's a spam account). Also, it's been a while since I used something else than self check-in and I can say I will try to book vacations in the future only with this option (we encountered big train delays in that day in the Bari area and we were late 3 hours causing the host to wait for us which I felt bad about). Also, I would have liked an extra touch to details and it would have been useful to have house slippers and some gear for the public beach as it is so close (maybe some beach towels or at least a beach umbrella). Other than that, we had a good stay and we thank you for it!

Casa Raffaella is in a great location in the heart of old Monopoli. Not far from the beach and the many great cafes and restaurants. The accommodation is on two levels and is very clean and comfortable and well equipped for self catering if required. Annamaria and Sandra were very kind and helpful before and during my stay.

The only downside for me personally (and it wouldn’t bother most people) is that the marble stairs are a bit awkward and steep to climb. Otherwise everything was perfect for my week long visit.
