Kakariki by the sea

The hosts were very friendly and were very easy to communicate with. The location is only a short stroll to the river and very handy to all facilities.

hot water to the shower was hit & miss with not much pressure (probably due to being on tank water)

This accommodation was an absolute treat, such a comfortable house. Very peaceful and relaxing.

The house was clean and spacious. There was enough room for us to do yoga in the morning. It was easy to find. Communication was good.

The bunk bed was very squeaky. Our son moves around a lot in his sleep so we had to ban him from sleeping on the bunk, as it would have been too noisy. We tried playing the Chinese checkers we found amongst the board games, but every colour had pieces missing so we couldn’t use it. It would have been nice to have a herbal tea at night or a plunger coffee in the morning but there was none provided. There was only instant coffee and black tea and a tiny amount of milk that wasn’t enough for the four of us to each make a hot drink.

The size of the property was excellent. The gardens were beautiful. Well-equipped kitchen.

The rainy/windy weather we had, but there were plenty of books and games to keep us entertained.
