The location is great. It’s like staying in a castle.

Beautiful house. Loved the front door, bathroom, cleanliness, cosiness, location is amazing. Our favourite accommodation in Portugal.

Gas ran low, but not really an issue for us.

Excellent location within castle walls near the main street. Interior and especially exterior design.

First and foremost, it was cold. We stayed in December, before Christmas, and the nighttime temperature outside was below 10 C. There were only two heaters in the house, which is clearly not enough for a 120 sq. m space, even if they worked properly. One was an electric heater that made virtually no difference, and the second was a gas heater. That one was malfunctioning, possibly due to the low temperature, and this brings me to another issue: the host, and more specifically, their attitude. When I encountered problems with the heater, I immediately contacted the property owner. They replied fairly quickly, which is a plus, but refused to come and help replace the gas bottle, instead sending me a link to a video guide. I managed to replace the gas bottle myself, but it did not help much. As a result, we had to sleep in thermal suits — thankfully, we had them just in case. My main concern is not so much the host’s unwillingness to help, but the fact that the heaters provided are clearly very cheap and simply not suitable for such conditions. It feels like guest comfort is not a priority, not to mention safety: with a gas heater, the space is supposed to be ventilated every hour, which is obviously impossible during the night. It seems the only real concern is saving money on electricity. Another issue is the bathroom, which is located in the basement. It is cold and humid there, and as a result, there is mold — not extreme, like in a wine cellar, but still noticeable. Finally, a minor inconvenience compared to the others: the check-in time is quite late.
