Cottage on Rutherford - Waikanae Holiday Home

The cottage was cosy and in a lovely setting. Easy reach to both Waikanae town and the beach

It was a bit grubby. The shower plug-hole was semi blocked and full of hair which I had to clean out. The bed was very creaky and I found that many of the slats had worked loose. Once they were back in place it was better.

The property was so clean and comfortable, perfect for a getaway holiday for couples. The view from the porch was also stunning. The location of the property is very private, too. We will definitely be coming again in the future.

The location is superb. Private. Great bird life. Peaceful scenic spot with wide views over wetlands to hills. Facilities and comfort good. Much appreciated.

There is an issue with the washing machine which we will report separately. We are relieved we didn't flood the place!

It was clean, beautifully sited, easy to locate. quiet and well resourced

We found nights very cold: single-glazing and lack of electric blankets difficult for these older bones. Proprietor gave us extra bedding - thanks!- and explained that dangers of guests misusing them meant their deliberate exclusion..but we found it chilly.

No breakfast but the location was what we needed

I found the bed a bit soft and the walk from the car to the door in the rain could be improved.

Secluded from main house, with no traffic noise. Lovely view to the mountains.

A proper gravel path from the car park to the cottage would be a good idea.
