Riverbank Lodge

Very clean, well equipped, ideal location next to the river, easily walk into village

Loved our stay, lodge probably is on the best plot on the site overlooking the River Spey with a peaceful, private decking area to enjoy. Accommodation has everything you would expect plus more, wifi surprisingly decent, very comfortable and cosy. Hosts contact you on arrival to make sure we were happy with everything which was a lovely touch.

Leaving to go home

The location: close proximity to the train station, local shops, transport links. The lodge itself is in a beautiful location overlooking the River Spey, surrounded by mountains and an abundance of wildlife. The facilities in the lodge were great, a real home from home feel, spacious sitting room and master bedroom with ensuite toilet. It was immaculately clean and things like binbags, food bags, tinfoil, washing up liquid were all provided alongside tea, coffee, sugar and all the condiments you might need. It saved a lot of money and other lodges I've stayed in haven't provided these things so it was great!

I was staying with my adult son and was relegated to the children's room for the duration of our stay and it is a little on the small side however this was expected. The bathrooms are also on the small side and the position of the towel rail meant it was tricky not to burn your knees when using the toilet as the rail got very hot and there didn't appear to be any way to turn the temperature down without turning the heating off in the whole lodge. Neither of these things impacted on our enjoyment of the stay.

Beautiful view of river from lounge; quietness, secure location; Old Bridge Inn pub (with meals), Italian restaurant (La Taverna), fish n chip shop and M&S Petrol station, all within walking distance before reaching centre of Aviemore. Easy and hard rambles/hill walking not requiring a car - including riverbank (River Spey) circular walk back through village, and hill walk beginning alongside Youth Hostel. Cairngorms accessible by short bus ride. Highly recommend Aviemore Bikes bike hire (also has E-bikes), easy circular rides to Boat of Garten and Loch Garten Families will enjoy Steam Railway to Boat of Garten and beyond. Brightly decorated accommodation, kitchenette and lounge, with two bedrooms, one with double-bed and second toilet, and one with two single beds

Riverside Lodge is clean, spacious, comfortable and really well equipped and had everything we needed. We loved the location on the banks of the River Spey, and the decking is so big that part of it is always in the sun (with the main seating area catching the evening sun, which was lovely). The campsite is nice and peaceful- and it’s in a great location as while the site itself is really quiet it’s a short walk into Aviemore with all the shops and restaurants- also a great location for walking.

Beautiful, spacious holiday lodge in a stunning, tranquil location right on the banks of the River Spey. Immaculately presented, lovingly furnished and clean as a whistle. The Riverbank Lodge is kitted out with absolutely everything you need for a happy and comfortable family holiday. A ten minute walk takes you into Aviemore town for bars, restaurants, shopping and local amenities and you’re also really well situated for major attractions. We went to the Highland Wildlife Park and Landmark Adventure Park and both were just 15 mins drive. The kids loved the lodge with loads of space both inside and outside and a welcoming committee of ducks who waddled up from the river to greet us as soon as we arrived. The lodge’s owners are very friendly and welcoming and supply helpful advice to get you settled in quickly. We didn’t want to leave and look forward to going back. Book without hesitation.
