"Nice break. A few "easy-to-fix"issues would make all the difference."

7.0

Location, cleanliness, has character.

Upatairs: Could do with a shower hose in the bathroom. The double bed only had a single quilt on it! The light in the single bedroom didnt work and the drawers in the same room unusable as they are wedged behind a heater. There is inadequate hanging space in the same room. Living room: TV in desperate need of an upgrade. Kitchen: Dishwasher is very rusty and not washing properly. Dodgy stairs down to the basement (not suitable for young or the infirm - needs a gate). Basement: Light in the bathroom doesn't work.

"Fantastic coastal cottage"

9.0

Perfect location - right in the middle of Aldeburgh but just off the high street. The room layout was perfect for us (family of 3 plus grandparents). We were toasty warm thanks to the fire and radiators. Great communication from the hosts - we felt well looked after.

Some more sockets upstairs would have been helpful but we appreciate it might be difficult in this property.

"We had a good, comfortable stay. Cottage felt homely."

7.0

Lovely and warm. Kitchen had everything we needed.

The plumbing definitely needs attention! Pipes seem to have an airlock so water could be intermittent and spat out of the taps in morning. Dripping taps in downstairs en suite need new washers and drove us crazy on first night but it seemed if we ran the shower they eased a bit.

"A great comfortable and enjoyable stay"

8.0

Great central location but quite safe area. Aldburgh is a lovely town

Parking was a bit hit and miss. The cottage was beautiful and comfortable but some of the decor was a bit end of season and some of the cutlery was not clean

"Average holiday cottage and needs some maintenance completing to improve it."

7.0

It was a cosy warm little cottage and it was well equipped for all of our needs, and it was very close to local shops, restaurants and the beach, and it provided a very good base to travel around Suffolk on days out. The furnishings and curtains etc. were lovely and of a high quality.

As soon as we arrived in the house on Friday evening i noticed that the two sink water taps (hot and cold) in the basement bedroom ensuite bathroom were very difficult to open and close, and the cold water tap could not be closed off completely and therefore this was wasting water and the taps were very frustrating to use. When they were opened water would spurt out at high pressure very fast and spray water everywhere. I called David at Coastal Cottages and discussed this with him as soon as i could do on Saturday morning, and he said he would try and organise a plumber to visit asap to repair or replace the taps. he did call me back on the Saturday to say that he was struggling to make contact with a plumber but he would keep trying. It appeared that someone had visited the property on the same day (Saturday) but did no work on the water taps and no-one visited again all week either, so we had to put up with using these taps in this condition all week. It says in their information booklet in the cottages to call them immediately if you find any maintenance issues and report it to them. This maintenance issue had also been mentioned by a previous holiday maker staying in the property on the feedback reviews on Boooking.com, so Coastal Cottages most probably were aware of this maintenance issue previously, but had not fixed it. Also, there is a possibility of not getting a parking space on the road at the front of the house. We were fortunate to get a space every day because it is out of the main season, but this could be difficult in the summer months to get a parking space. There is no garden available so it would have been nice to be able sit in the yard at the front when the sun was out, but the bench seating there is completely worn and damaged and unusable, and this needs replacing. The TV is very small, and could be changed to a larger TV in the living toom.

"A nice little break in Aldborough"

8.0

It was very convenient for the main High Street. The parking was quite good. There was always a parking spot outside .

The dishwasher was rusty inside and we thought didn’t wash very good. The taps downstairs needed replacement The shower kept on going hot and cold and could be quite dangerous, if an elderly person was in there Would have been nice to have had a little TLC on the property in places?

"Fine as a basic stop over by the sea"

5.0

Location as described just a short step from the sea. House was fairly basic - could do with some redecoration. Soft furnishings, cushions etc were a big grubby and the taps had to be really tight not to drip, then spurted the water out. It was fine for a few days but I wouldn’t rush back.

"It was a great place to stay for a getaway over the Christmas period."

8.0

The location was fantastic just tucked behind the high street, so in easy reach for most things including the beach. Lovely welcome package from the rental company.

The TV was small and not modern enough.
