Very cosy and comfortable

The house was charming and complete with everything we needed. (The information on the booking.com site lists it as 12,917 square feet. I assume that is a typo.)

The air conditioning unit in the bedroom was extremely loud and make it impossible to get a good night sleep. It would have been nice to be able to open windows instead, but they were taped shut.

So quaint and location.

The dryer died. But they were going to fix it.

Very pretty and comfortable home.

Bathtub didn't work. Shower was fine.

Great location and proximity to downtown and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Having a washer and dryer during the trip was great. Very cute and comfortable place to stay.

The parking situation seemed unclear. It says there is dedicated parking, but the driveway had a car from next door in it. We parked on the street. This could be clarified in the listing.

The small front porch with two chairs facing a quiet street. It’s a nice spot for breakfast or dinner. Also, it’s just one block from the main road.

Unfortunately, our stay was quite disappointing. The house is from the early 19th century, which was not mentioned on the listing on booking.com. Had we known this, we would have adjusted our expectations—or chosen a different place entirely. There are no blackout blinds in the bedroom. Also it was very warm at night, and no insect screens—so we couldn’t open the windows (we avoid using the AC at night). The front door could not be locked except for the electronic lock, which used a very simple and easily guessed code. This made us feel uneasy. The biggest issue: little black bugs throughout the house. According to a note on the fridge, they were harmless elm bugs (elm bug season) and spraying had been done, but due to the age of the building with a lot of cracks, bugs were to be expected. Unfortunately, they were everywhere—especially in the bedroom, which we found unacceptable. Because of this, we decided to leave after just one night. We contacted the host through several channels and politely asked for a refund for the remaining two nights (without expecting anything). We never received a reply.

The location was lovely. We loved the home's historic charm.
