Trezise Cottage

Nice old rustic cottage, comfy beds.

Was not made clear that it was over four floors, so was lucky grandchildren weren’t younger. Sink was dirty on arrival and quite a few cobwebs about. Was told to look out for the cottage with a green door and blue drainpipes and the fact was the door was light grey with black drainpipes. The information on web site and in the cottage needs updating.

We had a lovely stay at Trezise Cottage. The location was perfect for going into town and visiting all the shops and restaurants. The cottage was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Lots of toys for the kids and a great welcome pack which included lots of kitchen basics. Ashleigh & Paul were very accommodating and helpful. Penzance is a lovely place with so much to do with the kids. The jubilee Geothermal pool was a real treat! Thank you for an amazing stay!

The only things we could have needed were an oven glove and a blind in the top bedroom but after feeding back to the owners this will now be arranged

The cottage was a short walk from the train station (where we landed) and was close to the main shopping street.

The cottage has 4 levels which are all connected by narrow stairs. We had challenges openening the old windows for air so the rooms were a bit stuffy. There are a lot of "do's and don'ts" posted everywhere so we found that somewhat unwelcoming.

I was in the area for work again and didn’t hesitate to book the cottage. This was my second time in the cottage and it didn’t disappoint, I had another wonderful stay. The neighbours were so friendly and helpful. Ideal space for remote working. Comfortable bed and good Wi-Fi. It’s Ideal for business travellers, I highly recommended it and I will book when I am close by.

Parking was a little difficult but not a surprise for Cornwall.

Location was great to explore Cornwall. Penzance is lovely and the cottage is well equipped and presented and has a nice authentic feel.

There is no parking directly outside but we could park on another road.

Central location, lots of space.

The front door was very flimsy to the point of feeling insecure. This listing should not be advertised as having parking. The road outside is very narrow, and parked bumper to bumper. The on street parking is very much "every man for himself", and most of the cars had scratches and dents. Even though we only have a Suzuki Swift, we gave up and ended up parking in the harbour car park for £10 per 24 hours. The property is over 4 floors in total, the master bedroom is up two floors from the ground and the kitchen is one floor down. Fine for us but could be a consideration for others with mobility issues. Overall, the property feels run down and a bit dated; damp stains on the bedroom wall, mould and dirt in corners of the bathroom and hair left on the shower tiles. There was ivy growing through the kitchen window, and a noticable damp smell. The rules. I read a few comments that mentioned them and assumed they were exaggerating. They are everywhere, laminated sheets on walls, and doors. No "this" and no "that". I was on holiday and felt like I was in school. Very tone deaf. Overall I felt like the property was not priced fairly, and we came away with a feeling of disappointment.

Bedside lights with no sockets to plug into, no where to hang clothes, no wardrobes, no mirrors in bedrooms, big list of DON'T s....TV in bedroom didn't work...expected to strip the bed at the end of the stay...kitchen not as clean as expected...lots of stairs...39 steps?
