This property is a true gem. We stayed during the first week of January and our holiday season was gloriously extended by staying at River House. The magic of the decorations, the warmth and welcome of the hosts, fully stocked with every little detail you might need, comfortable layout, beds, fireplace and the unforgettable river which added character, fresh air and relaxation. Location is great, close for skiing and walks, not far from Ljubljana and lakes. Stay at this house, if available, you won’t regret it!

We loved everything about Riverhouse. We were met by Breda who gave us a tour of the house. The kitchen has absolutely everthying and anything you can think of including all utensils, pots, pans, glasses, plates, mugs and a very good sandwitch toaster. Breda ensured there were snacks and drinks ready for us. There was also extra oil and an huge range of spices. The bathrooms had the usual supplies but extras of anything including afershave and creams. The washing machine/dryer is very easy to use and again a stain remover proved handy and also a clothes rack for drying. The bathrooms are new and well oragnized and the bedrooms were more than adequate for five including three tall teenagers. Having said all that the true charm of the place comes from the garden which is a very large expanse including an amazing outdoor kitchen which we used all the time. The outdoor kitchen is very well supplied, very well decorated and icludes a gas barbecue which came very handy. We sat for hours outside just listening and watching the river that flows in a constant stream at the edge of the garden. After a long day hiking just to cool your feet off in the river is amazing. Anton and Breda and vey generous and forthcoming hosts. Having read reviews all of the above was as described by others. Our biggest surprise was Preddvor. The town lies at the foot of the most beautiful mountains. It is off the usual tourist list and you can do many hikes starting from River house. Use the website for Preddvor travel which details in English the numerous hikes in the area. We went up Javorov and came through St Jakobs church where a cafe serves amazing strudel. We had spent time in the Triglav national park which is stunning but it was teeming with tourists from all over Europe. On the hikes around Preddvor we encouneterd mainly locals and on the mainy road is a superb bakery. If you are looking for beauty, tranquility, and outstanding outdoor garden and kitchen the this is your stop.
