"Great value but with some drawbacks."

8.0

Well equipped. Close to shops and walking distance to the beach. Cozy and warm with just the log burner. Helpful staff replaced faulty kettle quickly. The private and enclosed garden was great for the dog and nice to sit out evenings even in late September.

Parking was very limited and a couple of nights we had to leave the car some distance away. Was a worry on the last night when we had to wait until 10pm for a space in the road as carrying bags would have been a real struggle as the road is narrow and double yellow lines mean no chance to double park temporarily. Traffic noise was very noticeable early in the morning particularly with the window ajar.

"Lovely small cottage for Aldeburgh"

8.0

Great cottage for our small group. Location about 20 mins walk to the beach. Minutes from local supermarkets and Kemps field playground. Garden was a lot bigger than shown in images which was a nice surprise. We had an issue with a cot and someone came quickly to sort it for us. Aldeburgh is beautiful.

Parking was really difficult. No roadside spaces for the whole trip. This was hard with small kids having to park far away and loading and unloading. Cars really speed on the road so care is needed. We asked for stair gates, these were provided but didn't fit any door or stairs at the property, this made the stay quite hard with a toddler. If they didn't say they would provide a stairgate, we would have brought one. Cot provided was quite grubby and torn - luckily, we brought our own mattress. The dishwasher wasn't working.

"Older visitors may find this place unsafe."

4.0

Close to shops and park land ideal for walking the dog. I look at a review of the pub at the end of the street and it said that it did meals and excepts dogs. The latter is true but they don't do any food whatsoever . The pub is nice and the people are friendly., but it surprisingly only opens from Thursday to Sunday. Aldeburgh is a lovely place and the beach is shingle. No dogs are allowed on it.

I think this cottage is not really suitable for older people as the stairs are quite steep and there are small steps between living area , bottom of the stairs and the kitchen. So some may find that a little unsafe. Also the stairs could be dangerous when or if you needed the toilet in the night as the bathroom was downstairs. We kept the stairs light on so when and if we needed to go to the bathroom you could see better in the night. Not very generous with toilet paper as there was only 1 roll to Last you all week. We had to buy some. Also the bath was to high off the ground and wife had difficulty getting in for a shower , which I had to help her get in. The garden area could do with sprucing up and decking area needed attention.
