Americana Cottage Closest Historic BnB to Benning

This was the worst place we have stayed in Columbus!

The house is right beside a liquor store. There was trash behind the nightstand, under the couch and bed so it obviously wasn’t cleaned. There were bugs in the home. The beds were not made. There was NO bathroom counter space. Of course the jets in the tub did not work. The linens provided were dirty. The back door was not secure. All of the wood outdoors needs to be replaced. Most of the furniture has been changed since the photos were taken. All of the furniture has stains/marks. The curtains in the main bedroom are completely see through with NO blinds! It faces a road and apartment complex where people hang out all hours of the night. I was not happy with the area! I was asked to pay an additional deposit the night before check in after I had paid for my stay in full 15 days prior. I spent an hour getting that sorted out. Then arrived the next day to find how the house was misrepresented and requested a refund. After another hour on the phone with no results, I was notified the next evening they brought replacement linens. After my stay began over 24 hours prior. The drawers and shelves are lined with aluminum foil. The dining table is not the same as shown in the photos. It’s a long, rectangular table with very little room to get by on each side. There are no extra linens in the home. The service is terrible and inadequate; I do not recommend this place. I would rate a 0 if possible!

Next door, although not too terribly close, was a "package store" that seemed to be a magnet for undesirables and a lot of random but loud noises. Also, there was a lot of general traffic noise due to the highway nearby, but I came prepared with ear plugs thank goodness. Also, I felt like I had to sleep in the 2nd bedroom because the master bedroom had 2 walls of large windows with see-through blinds. Please get better blinds for privacy in the master bedroom. In addition, the floor had some strange yellow viscous liquid on it that I had to clean up upon arrival, the couch was entirely wet with odiferous cleaning fluid, and my book got something sticky on it from sitting on the bottom shelf of the nightstand in the 2nd bedroom. I had to wash all my clothes & linens upon returning home (even the clean ones) to remove the smell. I love the fact that this property is veteran owned, and Patriot Homes was very responsive to help me with the door code. The price is just as good as staying at any hotel nearby, so I can't complain too much. Just a few tweaks would make this property improve significantly.

the pictures look absolutely NOTHING like the pictures on here. smells nasty. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. i paid over 700 dollars for this and i’ve never gotten my money back for it.

All the comfort of home, close to convenient stores & most important it was close to Ft. Moore where my grandson is station for his Army training.

The water being cold half the time while taking a bath or shower

It was the perfect little house and very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the stay and definitely would rent there again.

The only thing and not a huge deal. The fence in the backyard had a huge hole in it where anyone could walk right into the backyard. My brother and I put some of the fence boards up to kinda block it.
