Glass Cottage

Lovely cabin in a perfect location! There is a direct path to the beach 2 minutes from the cabin. Very comfortable bed. And Mike the owner is lovely. We had a great stay and look forward to returning

Great view, great located and super quiet. Mike is the best host you can find, great recommendations for places to visit and eat and was super available to give us a ride when we needed. You can't find better than this location. Super recommended

The view. It was so lovely to wake up every day to that awesome view! The place is also near the main town of Thong Sala, which was convenient. Guests could make it down to the beach also, which was nice.

I stayed there for 5 nights, and I felt it was a bit too long. It felt a bit claustrophobic after a while, as it is just one big glass room and nothing else. The view is nice, but it isn't the sunset view. The main road is right next to the place, and it can be noisy until late evening. My main issue was the interactions with the owners. I felt like an intruder rather than a paying customer. And it is priced much higher than most places in the island. Although one of the owners met me upon check-in and got me to the cabin, and also dropped me to the place where I rented the scooter without having to give my passport as surety, that was pretty much the pleasant experience I had. I rarely got timely responses to my questions. For instance, there was a hot water kettle and a basket with some tea bags, but no coffee bags (as is standard across Thailand). I texted them to ask the housekeeper to refill the basket with coffee, but got no response! Next morning, I rode my scooter to their restaurant (about 2-3km away!) and tried to explain to the workers at the restaurant. They were lovely, but didn't understand English well. The owners never came down or talked to me. In the evening, I came home to find the housekeeper left a french press and coffee maker, but no coffee still! And later I receive a message from the owner saying that they don't provide coffee, and I can have coffee at their restaurant! That felt the rudest response to me. Such a basic amenity, but it took 3 days to resolve, when I just bought the coffee packets for 20 thb (60 cents USD). It was an easy request for them to fulfill; but they just chose not to care. This lack of care was apparent in the upkeep of the place too -- the left door/window facing the sea wont open, the floor was rotten there, no clear path to the beach (so I couldn't access the beach at night). The place has a lot of potential, but this experience left me very unpleasant.
