"EL Jadida"

6.0

I love EL Jadida and this was my 10th holiday to this coastal town. I come every year. The beach is fabulous, vast and clean. The promenade facing the beach is wonderful, especially in the evening, an ideal way to end the day, strolling and enjoying a nightcap and the soothing breeze. The area at the beachside park can have live music in the summer. Many good places to eat, especially for seafood lovers. Abundant, shops, bars and cafes, central El Jadida is very walker friendly. The walk to the beach, up to the park takes about 20 minutes. Keep to the main road.

I speak several languages, ( i am a very experienced traveller ) and i was with two Moroccan friends, who only speak Arabic. NEVER in the last twenty years have i rented accommodation where, all channels in the language of THIS country are worryingly. absent! Please be aware i have lived and worked in Morocco for a long, long time. They were indignant. In fact, channels in all languages other than FRENCH, were " missing ". I am reluctant to formulate any specific conclusion, but i was astonished and dismayed. As to my mind, i received a subliminal message, that i did not appreciate. Three friends travelling together, but with different daily plans ( i go straight to the beach, the other 2 people have different plans and ideas ). Just one key between 3 individuals, wanting to go in different directions was a disaster. I CUT MY VACATION SHORT AND LEFT EARLY. Finally the area next to the fort entrance, does not feel safe, LATE, at night. Even the two Moroccans, agreed and caution was advised.
