Perfect location for us. Close to all we needed. Plus very quiet

Very dated. Could use some new furniture, carpet etc.

Wir hatten ein tolles Wohnhaus mit 2 Schlafzimmern, Küche, 2 Badezimmern und Wohnzimmer, ein paar Schritte abseits vom Haupthaus, und konnten trotzdem die Hoteleinrichtungen mitbenutzen. Sehr komfortabel, mit Waschmaschine etc. Frühstück konnten wir um 14,50€ pP dazubuchen, war durchaus sehr in Ordnung.

Es war etwas kalt im Zimmer; der „Wellnessbereich“ ist leider mit einem österreichischen nicht zu vergleichen. Pool durfte man nur mit Badehaube betreten, Sauna und Dampfbad nur mit Badebekleidung. Liegebereich gab es überhaupt keinen zum Entspannen. Dafür leider einen Punkt Abzug.

Issue each day with hot water. Ran out minutes after trying to take a shower and there were 4 of us. We even were told about the clock on the water and heater and to use the boost. Didn't help too much.

It was great to have a full cabin with 2 bathrooms, kitchen and plenty of space for the family.

The lighting in the main living area was extremely dark, we struggled at the dining table with the lack of light and the beds were very hard.

Getting a refund

We arrived after a 3 hour journey with a tired baby and we soon realised that the holiday home was nothing like the photos, no fancy view and facing other guests' windows. The photos on your separate booking should show exactly the room you are getting as they have with the other dozens of bookings that we have made. The fancier view advertised here was a more expensive lodge up the road. As the photos were all clumped together it's misleading as to what home you are booking. After just stepping foot inside we quickly realised that the house was going to be too cold and as we needed to go straight in and feed a hungry baby and get her settled we simply had to cancel the room and find a new apartment for our holiday. The out-dated storage heaters, on top of letting off a musty smell, would never create comfortable heat for a January stay and therefore the homes should not be open for booking in winter until modern heating systems are installed. Plenty of killarney apartments and holiday homes have suitable heating as we learned when we moved to another spot for the same price just half an hour later with underfloor heating and a thermostat. As we had my partners elderly parents with us also, we would never have even asked them to step into this lodge. For full transparency, the manager on shift at that point was very apologetic and even offered us to be upgraded to a golf lodge with the nice view and better heating but at that stage we had already rang an alternative place and paid over the phone as we couldn't risk having our baby in the car much longer. The refund was also put through very quickly which we appreciate.
