Penybont Barn

Great location, with some lovely local walks. loved the garden area on a sunny evening it was perfect for sitting out with the dogs.

Great location with a great restaurant over the road and exceptional village pub round the corner. The cottage is cosy and comfortable, with a gorgeous little stream running alongside. It was a great base for our holiday.

I think the towels and bed linen could do with a refresh. We also didn't realise that the cottage shares a driveway with the neighbours, which wasn't ideal as we took our dog with us and really wanted a fully enclosed garden area (he has a habit of running after cars!)

It was one of those places where we felt comfortable as soon as we walked through the door. We've stayed in too many holiday properties where we felt the need to clean it before we could relax,. Thankfully, this wasn't one of those places. The kitchen had everything we needed. The living room was comfortable. The WiFi was good too. The location is great for exploring the Brecon Beacons and further afield. There was good contact with the owners via text/email and the booking.com app, but they were never intrusive. We would be more than happy to stay there again.

The only minor issue was the stairs. They were very slippery for our dog. However, once he became used to them, it wasn't really a problem, he just knew to take it steady.

Self catering - no breakfast. The location was perfect for our needs - my grand-daughter was attending the pony camp at the Activity Centre and Penybont Barn is near to Brecon.

The weather had got cooler so a blanket for the second bed would have been good and the pillows could have been better quality. I don't have a smart phone and we were leaving home early to meet up with friends on the way. Booking .com did not send me the email with the pin code to access the building until a couple of hours after we left home. Luckily I was able to phone the owners for the pin code.
