JJ's "Gin Palace" luxury riverside town house

The location is fabulous. Close to the town, plenty of pubs & restaurants and lovely views of the river and canal basin. We loved the big, well-equipped basement kitchen and the king size bedroom with en-suite on the 2nd floor was great. The layout would best suit up to 3 couples and a couple of children perhaps

While the house can sleep 8 - 10, the lounge is not big and is only furnished for 6, with a 4 seater sofa and 2 armchairs The sofa bed in the description is actually the sofa, not a bed and there are not 3 bunks beds (as stated). There is only 1 set of bunks in a small room, with an additional pull out bed. The twin bedroom was made up as a double. So as a group of 7 single ladies, our first hour or so was spent rearranging beds and hunting for bedding. We couldn't find spare duvet covers or pillow cases, though there were several sheets and duvets The owner kindly brought round toiletries and garden chairs that were missing originally. But we later found there were no dishwasher tablets or scourers in the kitchen.

Great place for a golf weekend away. Great location very close to shops, pubs and restaurants. The house had everything we needed and was very clean and tidy.

Location was amazing! House was central to so many things yet in a really lovely and peaceful setting! House was also well equipped and lovely to stay in with lots of space and great facilities!

Fantastic location and historical building. Well equipped for a family gathering.

Would have liked logs and coal for wood burner but none in place sadly plus had to clean out the fire itself remove all ash .however there was bread milk in fridge and orange juice plus eggs so a nice surprise on the whole a nice place
