"A wonderful, beautiful and relaxing house"

A really wonderful place for a holiday. Beautiful views, lovely pool, amazing flowers (in May), very well equipped, comfortable beds. We felt really at home here. Our 2 1/2 year old absolutely loved the house and gardens - the pool has a safety fence around it which is a great feature to help us relax while he wondered around the garden. The location is fantastic, down a short dirt road about 30 mins from Vila Nova de Milfontes. It was so nice to return to the peace and quiet of the house after a busy day on the beach.

"No words as it so exceeded my expectations!"

Loved it all. Spacious, had everything you could possibly need, lovely view, peaceful... we felt on top of the world. The night skies were amazing, I don't think I have ever seen so many stars. We all felt like we didn't want to leave. Definitely a place to go back to. Lovely host was always there for us without interfering. Amazing experience!! 💜

One thing... didn't have a full body mirror 😅

I really needed to get away from the stress of work and modern society in general and boy did this property help me find that inner peace again. Cal Velho is really out in the middle of nowhere, with a terrace facing east that allows you to enjoy the magic sunrises in the best possible manner. The silence allows you to focus on yourself and the trails that fan out from the sides of the house allow you to discover the landscape along the rolling hills. The owner allowed me to check in quite earlier than usual, as she had had no guests from the previous day. This was highly appreciated, as it ensured none of my food got spoiled in the transfer from the previous location. Thanks for the help with this detail!

I would have given this property the highest score possible, but there were two details that affected my stay in a less favorable manner. The first involved issues with the pool, which made it impossible for me to use it during the majority of my stay, but I got compensated for this inconvenience, so all is good. The second detail is outside the control of the owner, but I feel it still needs to be mentioned. To get to the house, you need to drive about 700 meters along a dirt road that in sections is in really bad shape. The last 100 meters contain a section with large and really sharp rolling gravel. Even if I always drove this section in less than 10 km/h and in first gear, on the fifth day of my stay I got a puncture in one of my tires while driving to the property. Without a doubt this road helps in keeping this place so nicely isolated, but at the same time it is also a stressful element during your stay.
