The Birdhouse with Hot Tub

The Birdhouse is a purpose built guesthouse. It's separate from the main house, has its own kitchen with all modern conveniences, living room, bathroom, courtyard and hot tub. You feel like you can come and go without waking the neighbours. This made the accommodation more suitable for a holiday than, for example, a converted apartment. The location was perfect; we had a great view of the hills, the nearby beaches and the sea. The changing sunshine throughout the day produced amazing colours across the landscape. We arrived late in the afternoon to the accommodation but still had time for a walk on Magheraroarty Beach. The Shamrock Bar, a traditional Irish pub in nearby Falcarragh, was a short drive and worth a visit. There is also a 5k Parkrun event every Saturday in Falcarragh (www.parkrun.ie/falcarragh/) which I regretfully missed because we were packing. We were adjacent to the Wild Atlantic Way route. The accommodation was an ideal base for Glenveagh national park. After hiking along the national park, we drove around Mount Errigal, Magheraclogher to see Bád Eddie, and Cnoc Fola. Henry and Elizabeth were absolutely unimpeachable as hosts. They politely contacted us to check that we were en route. They were friendly, helpful and offered to pick up any groceries we needed. They even baked us scones and a loaf of bread which we toasted for breakfast. Henry showed us around the apartment, showed us how the hot tub worked and gave us the choice of the two bedrooms. Henry and Elizabeth appreciated that some guests prefer to be left alone. We were happy to chat, checkout in person and meet their friendly black poodle. We've since recommended the Birdhouse to my brother and his wife in Galway.

Had an amazing 2 nights here, the property is so beautifully furnished and maintained, the place is amazing. The little touches of the robes for the hot tub, and fresh baked bread and scones are just perfect.

Genuinely lost for words on this place. Absolutely beautiful location, stunning place and pictures do not do it any justice. Henry and Elizabeth are the loveliest people we’ve had the pleasure of staying with, extremely friendly and more than helpful. We cannot be more thankful for them both! They had scones and bread upon arrival, and have every single thing that you will need for your stay. The hot tub was the perfect temperature (hard to find in most places!) and the perfect addition in this stunning place. We are so delighted we booked this place and if you’re reading this, don’t think about it just book it!! Thank you both again so so much for our wonderful stay and making our holiday at home so special ☘️💛

There wasnt anything extra that Henry and Elizabeth could have done for us, stayed up late to welcome us in and were contactable at any time. The place was beautiful the views spectacular and all the little additions made a great weekend even better.

Fabulous property. We arrived to scones, baked bread and the best hospitality imaginable. The views were incredible. The hot tub was fabulous after a long day of exploring the beaches nearby. Beds were comfy. I can’t rate this property highly enough. Will definitely be back.
