Windrush Cottage, Seven Springs Cottages

Very comfortable and homely. We’ll equipped with everything. Stair gates very helpful with young children.

The location was great for walking, running and cycling and was a perfect base to explore the Cotswolds villages. The property was spotless and well equipped. It had a large 40 inch smart TV. Nice garden with play equipment and great views. The owner kept checking in on us by text to make sure everything was alright and was very friendly when we finally met her. There was a pint of milk provided on arrival. There were great views from the dining room which was really relaxing when having breakfast. There were also benches outside in the garden. It was near a couple of A roads which you could hear outside the property, but you couldn't hear the traffic from inside. The location to the roads made it easy to drive to places.

The creaking floorboards were HORRENDOUS, every time someone went to toilet in the middle of the night they woke everyone up. There is nothing the owner can really do about that though. Not enough info in the visitor folder. In places to visit it didn't include any of the Cotswolds villages and in places to eat it didn't mention the pub opposite ( which was a hungry horse chain- food ok for a chain and you can eat free with Tesco clubcard vouchers. ) The nearby supermarkets section didn't mention that Lidl was nearby as was Tesco. The owner just seemed to write their own preferences. We couldn't figure out how to work the grill and the only instructions were "you have to have the oven on" this wasn't sufficient. The stairs were really steep and there was no downstairs toilet. The welcome pack was a pint of milk- no teabags or biscuits ( there was a jar of coffee and some sugar in a cupboard, but it wasn't clear if that was provided by the host or left by previous guests). We have stayed in lots of self catering recently and they have all provided us with a minimum of a few tea bags and a pack of biscuits.

The garden, small playground, and adjacent hill was just a perfect and safe play area for our children. This really is an ideal cottage for a family. Everything present in the kitchen to cook virtually whatever you want. A lot of games eg scrabble, monopoly, puzzles to keep children busy. Free parking and central location to visit cotswolds. Very easy and straightforward communication with the owner.

Maybe a vacuum cleaner and coffee machine would make it perfect :) Else no negatives to report at all!

cottage is beautiful, clean and had everything we needed! Marcie was so friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this property to anyone, and already have!
