Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate (Indlovu Lodge 266)

We loved the peaceful bushveld setting amongst the wildlife. The owners also provided enough wood, drinking water and ice which was a bonus.

Awesome and private location within the wildlife estate. The property is fully equipped for a self catering stay with a larger group. Great facilities at the property and the very spacious rooms makes for a very comfortable stay. We loved that each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, aircon and the coolest ceiling fan with built-in bluetooth speaker for streaming music. Separate games room next to the pool deck is great to keep the kids entertained. Property was clean and looks to be well maintained.

There is not much I can fault as this met my requirements exactly for the short stay I booked. Perhaps a useful addition in future though would be a dishwasher in the scullery.

I liked the newly added bathrooms to each room, warm water, friendly manager and enjoyed the animals visiting the house. It was a great experience to stay at your place. It feels like home, away from home.

Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, is absolutely beautiful, quiet, and peaceful the setting alone really adds to the experience and makes it ideal for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature. We had a good stay overall and the place has a lot of potential, especially for group bookings. The space is generous and works well for a larger group.

There are a few areas that need attention. We experienced inconsistent hot water, with some showers running cold, and poor plumbing, as a few showers did not drain properly. There was also a roach issue that should be addressed. The furniture feels quite old, particularly the sofa, balcony bench, and outdoor furniture, some of which was unstable and not very clean. For a house with 5 bedrooms, a dishwasher would be a great addition, as dishes pile up quickly when the house is full. It would also be nice to have champagne flutes available 🥂 for special occasions. With some maintenance updates and small improvements, this place could be much better and more comfortable for guests.

This is a five bedroom house with recent upgrades to make all bedrooms ensuite. Comfortable lounge area and well appointed kitchen (with a small airfryer which comes in handy). Situated in the wildlife estate with wild animals often cited close to the house or on the road. Good security. Communication with the host was good.

The two available braai facilities could not be used. The outdoor braai grid was so bent and the indoor braai could also not be used due to location of chimney. As mentioned in previous reviews - the pool table is not in a good condition and cannot be used. There is no roofed outside seating area at the pool which would have been nice. There are creamer,coffee and sugar sachets provided but no bathroom/soap, as would be expected. A nice addition (considering the price of accommodation) would be a daily cleaning service for just dishes, beds and sweeping.

The estate is incredible and great location. The property manager was fantastic and she tried her best given terrible circumstances. I have stayed at a few places in the estate before that I can highly recommend, not this property. I will never go back nor tell anyone to go.

No full access to property that is under construction. Parts were very dirty. No chairs available to sit outside, we had to find them stored and dirty, so had to clean ourselves. No prior communication to inform us and enable us to cancel. No warm water for 2 days. Didn’t load enough electricity so ran out in the middle of the night when boiling hot. Some issues pointed out during stay were never fixed. No place to put full rubbish bags or instructions on where to discard. Owner unwilling to give any compensation for the property not being as advertised. Honestly, spend your money and one of the many other beautiful accommodations on the estate, but not this one, its not worth it.

Die Unterkunft ist gerade renoviert worden. Anders als in der Beschreibung hatten wir fünf Zimmer, von denen jedes ein eigenes Badezimmer hatte. Alle Zimmer hatten eine Klimaanlage. Die Küche ist vollständig ausgestattet, sodass wir uns sehr gut selbst versorgen konnten. Die Lage im Wildlife Estate ist traumhaft, da man dort selbstständig zu Fuß oder auch mit dem Auto die afrikanische Savanne entdecken kann. Der Kontakt zur Besitzerin war stets unkompliziert!
