Beds n Sofa wer comfy, handy little spot for everything....especially the pubs!

Kitchen and fridge needed a little cleaning wen we arrived and I had to turn the fridge up as it wasn't cold enough but next day all my salad n strawberries wer frozen and needed disposing of so had to turn it down again and have warm beer. Also paving in the back garden is rather uneven and a solar light near back door would be helpful.

As we were driving all the way from Cornwall, by the time we got to the property it was nearly 9:30 pm. Our 8‑year‑old son got in the shower, and while drying himself with the towel he promptly threw up. When we asked what happened, he mentioned the awful smell on the towel. Upon closer inspection, three of the towels had a horrid smell of used hair gel or oil. We inspected the others and found another towel with used toothpaste! My wife inspected the duvets and pillows and found black and blonde hair all over them. By now it was clear none of the towels or bedsheets had been changed—just folded and put back. I messaged one of the landlords, Steve, at just after 10 pm and pointed out the issues. I mentioned that since it was so late, we would manage somehow, but we needed things rectified in the morning for our second day’s stay. He was very apologetic and promised to sort it out in the morning. We moved most of the pillows and duvets and slept in our coats, using the only clean towel as a pillow cover. In the morning I told Steve we would leave at 11 am to go out, and asked if he could make sure things were deep‑cleaned by the time we returned. He said he would let the cleaning company know and they would get it sorted. We returned just before 2 pm to find nothing had been done. Given that we had been reasonable and given him ample chance to fix the issue, we decided to call it quits, vacate the property, and find another place for the night. I told this to Steve, and his attitude changed slightly, but he agreed to refund the second night’s stay if we left by 3:30 pm. We cleaned the kitchen, put the smelly towels on the bathroom floor, put all the pillows and duvets back on the bed, and promptly left at 3 pm. A day later, there was no news about the refund, so I contacted Steve. He said he was talking to Booking.com because the cleaners had found vomit on a towel and the property messy.

More attention to sm details. Could have left washing up liquid at the very least. Tea stains to main bedroom wall.

Excellent location, lovely little house. Perfect for our couple nights stay.

Location - really good. Loved the Church/Cathedral. Plenty of places to go and eat in the immediate village. The cottage is really comfortable. It was immaculate and the shower was fab. Nice big bath sheets too!

The freezer is under the stairs and is almost inaccessible and in serious need of de-frosting. The upstairs walls are so thin!! If you have a snorer in the cottage, you can hear every single snore as if its in the same room. Grrrr!
