"I enjoyed my break which was to visit family in Port Seton but disappointed by the lack of attention to issues in and ou"

7.0

Nice caravan inside, spacious, patio doors open out onto large decking area that gets the sun until early evening. The caravan is situated on a quiet cul de sac at 14 Gleneagles and not 8 Carnoustie place as advertised in listing. It’s at the rear of the park, backs onto a field with horses. Theres an entrance to the walking trails 2 caravans away, where there are walks along the edge of the park and golf course, my dog loved it. Nice quiet location with no passing traffic.

The owner, Paula contacted me about handyman coming to fix shower, I told her that the patio curtain rail was broken, she advised she knew of this and it had been reported. The handyman fixed the leaking shower by replacing the back plate. We discussed the very spongy floor in shower room, he stated shower must have been leaking at the back of plate for a while and damaged floor. He said the floor needs replaced urgently and patios curtain rail needs replaced too as temporary repairs not working, he will report this back. I mentioned to Paula there were a few more maintenance issues. The lock on the en-suite toilet door had no mechanism hence the door just sat open all the time you are sat on the toilet pan, Paula advised she knew about this and it’s been reported. On the left wall as you enter the double room there’s been a repair and there a row of nails hammered in all down the corner, all the heads of the nails are protruding, Paula did not know about this. The coffee table in the lounge is missing its trim on one side and looks very tatty. I forgot to mention this to Paula but it has been mentioned in previous reviews. Outside the caravan is very unkempt, there is a lot of weeds and an overgrown thorny shrub. Why have two large plant pots each side of door as a feature and have only weeds growing in them. In the evening the sun shines on the rear of the caravan, there’s a slabbed patio there but we we’re unable to use it as a large fence has collapsed onto the patio and it looks like it’s been there a while as ivy and weeds growing through it. All this does not create a very good first impression of the “Stunning Modern Lodge” ! It definitely needs a new title as this does not reflect the caravan as it is currently, again this has been mentioned in previous reviews and I informed Paula about the broken down fence.

"Would Book Again"

8.0

The staff were exceptional: helpful, so pleasant, great with my grandkids. I'd like to mention, in particular, Erin in pool reception and Lucy the lifeguard.

A few issues with tatty aspects of the lodge (badly broken curtain rail on verandah doors, edging missing off coffee table etc. Had to wash some glasses before use.) Activity passes for adults far too expensive if you don't plan to use the show bar at night. There should be a scale of charges for these.

"Very good"

8.0

Very nice lodge at Port Seaton with nice club house facilities, mostly for kids.

The check in was confusing because the guards had to authorise our passage, but they didn't have the information of our arrival. Also, the lock of the lodge is not working properly, so we were almost left out with our things inside. Maybe a small instructions/ rules sheet through booking or inside the lodge would be great.

"One of the easiest and comfortable stays we’ve had with our dog. The lodge had everything we could want and was an easy"

9.0

Large towels and plenty for 2 people for 1 week. Plenty of living space. Great functional kitchen. Quiet location in the park and able to park the car next to the caravan. Shower was a surprisingly great and better than ours at home! Wonderful location especially for our dog being walking distance to the beach.

Sofa bed not very comfortable to sit on. No internet (but terrestrial TV was a nice change, and just reading and resting). Double bed was u comfortable for us and would need a topper or thick blanket in our opinion (spare duvet was available). Feedback for the site in general; I think all the caravans could do with some clearer instructions on where to park. We got blocked in a couple of times from people that didn’t know where to park. Our property - we knew where to park.
