Southsea, Beach and Beauty Lodges

The lodge was in a great location, nice and quiet - although it was late December. There is plenty of space for four people. The lounge has a very good amount of seating and it is very comfortable. The shower in the main bathroom is very good. The kitchen is mostly well equipped. Parking for two cars was a great bonus as we stayed with friends who had to bring another car. The WiFi and Smart TV both worked very well.

Unfortunately a number of things spoiled our enjoyment of the property, the main one was the smell of dog (very strongly) in the lounge and the main passageway to the bedrooms. Dog hair was also present on the carpets. I understand that this is a pet friendly property but surely the extra charge is used to clean up after they have visited? We opted to wash all of the cutlery, crockery and cookware after finding dirty plates and pans in the cupboards. There were only a few usable glasses, luckily we'd brought some with us. Some cupboard and drawer doors had loose facings. The cooker only had three usable rings, one had been stuffed with paper. The ensuite shower head would not stay up on its own and the plug in the main bathroom sink had jammed closed. I appreciate that it is right at the end of the year but this chalet would have been so much nicer with some TLC and decent cleaning.

Good location for Goodwood which was our reason for travelling. Gated site so felt secure.

As we were going for Goodwood Revival, all accommodation was heavily price increased and sadly this made it poor value. Unfortunately the accommodation was not what we had hoped for. It was a little cramped with 6 adults. The twin rooms in particular were quite small and had what felt like smaller than normal single beds. Shame that we couldn't park 2 cars outside the accommodation. There was a stale smell (dogs/cigarettes). Fair enough about the dog smell as pets are allowed and it wasn't always noticeable. At the price we paid we expected much more but I'm sure on a non-Goodwood event weekend it is much more reasonable.

good space, clean and quiet, felt secure with the two gates and a nice walk on the beach which was very close by.

could have done with some tea towels and a cloth or something to clean the surfaces.
